dirty?
I cleaned up the hub/drum today. Didn't get to the pads or the little bit on the housing. The hub/drum cleaning was enough. It was pretty bad. I didn't take them all the way apart. Didn't seem necessary. Cleaned up nice though.
Thanks welldigger. First time doing this so I appreciate the tips. Once it warms up a bit I plan on checking the other wheels. I really want to get this fixed and get the brakes bled(hopefully that goes smooth and nothing needs rebuilt) and get it on the road by the end of the year. Waiting on...
I used a pipe with a cap and a floor flange(forget size) on my f350. I don't think that was 3" but I figured something along those lines would work. It came off pretty easy.
Do you just fill the whole keyway slot and level it off? I don't want to wait around for a week for some cork or...
I don't see the small cork in the replacements I bought. It is there on the axle but looks degraded. Quickly reading the bunkerofdoom site it looks like that little cork piece is important to get right.
I got my deuce a couple of weeks ago. I thought the wheel cylinder needed rebuilt as there were no brakes and it looked like a leak on one of the rims where you would expect for a leaking cylinder. After a few hours to get it all apart(first time) it looks like the wheel cylinder is fine. I...
Is there a way to know if you are getting an American made wheel cylinder? Or a source that only sells them? I plan on rebuilding one this weekend but if it turns out it is bad i'd like to replace it with one made in the USA.
I came across this. It may or may not be useful to you.
Cribbing starts on pg11.
I found it here http://www.fema.gov/pdf/emergency/usr/module2a.pdf
And uploaded in case the link becomes bad.
Also wasn't sure where to post this. I don't see a general wrenching area. If it belongs elsewhere...
Installed 2 new batteries and cleaned out the battery box. Started it and drove around the yard with my son. I planned on starting on the wheel cylinder rebuild but didn't get to it.
The crate is much larger than I thought. Seems to be close to 6 feet long and about 3 wide. I looked at it when I got it home for a few minutes. There were a few cardboard boxes that I didn't go through. Hopefully there is a parts list in there so I can figure out if this is complete or not.
It...
There were a LOT of trucks there. Got my m105 today! One low tire. Aired up off post and no issues all the way home. Hubs were cool every time I checked. Long trip home at 55.
Amer-team were you picking up some desks? Was someone with a flatbed when I showed up that was getting desks and not...
I'm heading to JBLM this week to pick up an m105a2. I was wondering if I could get contact info for a few local folks in case of emergency. I do not believe I will need to but if something happens that I cannot fix on the road or find parts for I would like to be able to park the trailer...
I am heading to JBLM from Central WA this week, tues or wed. I am towing back a m105. Will have space in the bed of the f350 and the trailer. Picking up troop seat kit is the only other thing that will be in there. So if you need anything picked up to save you the trip over the pass let me know...
Not a Mil Trailer
This isn't a military trailer. But I did build the deck with aluminum deck pieces from a mobile bridge. I cut off the front supports that stick out after my mother backed up alongside it and damaged her door. I had planned to add some wood on the sides there for steps/storage...
