My Gen 2 light had a faint glow to it and could see it at night. When I would turn on the headlights or the fan it would get brighter.
So I went ahead and replaced all the belts- same problem. I was pulling all the connections and cleaning them off and applying dielectric grease when I saw the...

Glad you got it fixed and down the road again. I agree with you, I freak out and think it's something old and turns out it's the made in China crap!
LOL! Got to love these CUCV's. I did almost the same thing with my 1009 as well. We had a huge dirt mound on the property so I just HAD to climb it! The '09s will go pretty much anywhere!
Does anyone have any input about seeing the needle at night with red bulbs? I am thinking about taking the plunge on switching over to red. Would like to do LED, but to me it seems like a lot of money.

You do great and very detailed work my friend! I am looking forward to watching your step by step progress with this one as well. The only thing that disappoints me is that I am not closer to help!

Mistaken1 is correct. That is the easiest way to align the window after putting in new rubber. Also make sure you clean out and reapply white lithium grease to all the window track channels (the metal piece attached to the bottom of the window) and the window regulator gears. I spray silicone...
I read to lube the window channel felt with silicone spray. I did so and it made a difference. It's not as stiff, but I think I might still have the window too tight in the tracks. I am scared to run it too loose as I think it would cause a lot of slop. Any advise?

Welcome to the Contact Truck world! They are a lot of fun and come in handy for making a mobile repair facility! Biggest upgrade that needs to happen in radio in truck with speakers facing out of the bed box! It's the small things in life that make you smile :-D

I agree, double check to make sure they put on a 24v starter. You can get a few starts out of a 12v (when hooked up to a 24v system), but it WILL lead to failure.

Ya, I had the same happen to me for posting the link.

Yes, in the state of Texas all we need is a bill of sale and a picture of the data plate (I needed that when I registered mine). I guess I got a good deal on my 101. I am going to pass and hold out for getting the rest of...
