I agree. They need their common sense checked. It does not take very much brain power to figure out that whoever sent the e-mail was not the same person or group that made this post. http://www.steelsoldiers.com/1079786-post59.html
I saw some of these with electric 24v clutch in the Surplus Center - Hydraulics, Engines, Electrical and More catalog a while back. I heard they use them for modern tow trucks.
I have a M1008 with a twin stick NP205 in it and 40 inch boggers. I drive around in 2 low all the time. Lots of guys do. I have not broken anything yet.
I bought my 24v LED lights from 2 different places on Amazon. AT the time they were the cheapest. I use them mostly with 12v and they are a little dimmer, but not too dim in my opinion.
ok, I figured out what is going on.... sort of. When you turn the power off, both gauges will go back to zero and get stuck there. When I turn the power back on it looks like nothing is working. if I bang on the gauge a little with my finger it will pop up and start working normally. Any Idea...

5 Watt Solar Battery Charger
I have a couple 12v 1.5 watt solar battery chargers from Harbor Freight. I noticed that these do not have a regulator on them and you have to buy that part separately. The Regulator is $29 and I saw the charger is on sale for $12.
My questions are:
-How do I know if I need the regulator...
This just occurred to me. I when the gauge was hooked up I tested the voltage to the gauge posts and got 24v. I did not test the 12v post. that would tell me if I am getting the connection across the resistor.
I tested the gauges and they work fine. The resistors don't show continuity, but do show 330 ohms resistance. I hooked up the wires and tested both gauges and they work when they are not in the dash panel. when I put them one of them in the panel it does not work. I think it may be the...
I read in another thread that 14.5v is ok.
I checked the continuity between the 12v and 24v posts on the back of the gauges and get no reading. open circuit.
I'm guessing because my voltage is a little on the higher side and the resistors are old that is why they blew. ????
