I rebuilt both of mine i paid $80 for 1 and $65 for the other 1 was cheaper cause he didnt replace the pully. I like using local shops. The owner knew exacly what it was for cause he saw the isolated ground and he use to have a contract with the Army rebuilding them.

welcome aboard Thats a vaccum valve adapter. just a fitting .you can probaly find one in a junk yard are i might have a spare im about to strip down a M1008 and use it for spares.

Thanks for the info. im still leaning towards a dirty tank and a bad sending unit. i dropped the tank and cleaned the sock off but never cleaned the tank like i should have. my fuel gauge does not read right and yes i did check the ground wire. the sending unit i have was from a 85 chevy gas...

I just ordered both types of starter brackets from ''gm parts direct'' im on my third set of starter bolts due to not having the bracket before. and i may have already damaged my flywheel. i wont be starting my truck until i have the relay mod and bracket installed.
