Just a note about the loan.... Odds are it will have to be a personal loan and depending on what your credit is like you may have to put down a good down payment or collateral and the interest rate may not be too great. Don't go into debt for a MV. Save as much as you can and find a very solid...
I'm going with BFG TA/KO's in P235/85R16, surprisingly they were one of the cheaper options. Theres a few threads in here on tire size. I need to replace the front springs at some point though, theyre sagging pretty good.
Yes.
Ordered tires today :-D wont be here until the end of next week or the beginning of the week after (just in time for the fourth of July). Ordered new oil pan gasket.
Rebuilt the driverside hub again using the right grease and some different torque specs and a slightly different technique than I tried last time. So far so good. I think im going ti repaint a few pieces and the tailgate tomorrow and see what the camo rattle can looks like. Changed a tire that...
The M1008 probably isnt going to make it. :( I dont think i put the wheel bearings and spindle nuts in right. Hub gets pretty hot and i smell burning grease and see a hint of smoke.
Test drove after reassembly of the driverside front wheel. I had it all the way down to the knuckle. I need a new spindle the inside was pitted bad as was the little axle shaft. Now it apears i may have over torqued one of the spindle nuts just a hair to get it to line up with that washer, i...
Hope so... That tie-rod is really in there though. Just like the tapered screw on the steering stabilizer was, I ended up cutted that to get a breaker bar on it, I cant stick my trusty breaker bar on these  No one seems to have the right tool. The pitman arm pullers I bought wont work both...
Not Happy. Jeep just had the power steering pump let go and the m1008 is still down (can't get the tie-rod and steering arm off). So unless I can get one or both by then... I'm probably out. I wont be sleeping until monday morning if I have to just to get the vehicles road ready again. I...
I'm still trying to get the king pins out... can anyone recommend a tie-rod puller from napa, advance auto, oreilly, or autozone with a part number or picture? I can't get the tierod or steering arm out. the pitman arm puller I have keeps falling off the tie-rod. Any help will be greatly...
I would think to am extent but i believe the M1008 is a bit longer than the M1009 when it comes to the exhaust pipe. Otherwise I would be inclined to say yes they should be interchangeable.
I'd get a locking cap if one was available for when the M1008 isnt in the garage. Not too worried about someone steeling the fuel so much as I am about someone adding stuff to the tank. I live in a nice spot but... people are still unpredictable.
Well finally making headway with the kingpins. I swear I'm one of the slowest wrenches on the planet but I think I will have them done in time. Got the driverside hub/rotor off so far. Hopefully axle shaft and knuckle in the next day or two and kingpin this weekend. The passenger side should go...
Finally started the kingpin rebuild... but im stuck. Everywhere i researched that i cound find said 6 prong spindle socket, i get the hub off and its a 4 prong. I so i went and bought a 4 prong one too. Too small. Can anyone advise the right size spindle nut socket?
Edit got it 2 3/5" 4 prong...
