Had my 1009 springs re arched over a year ago and had 2 1/2 inches front and rear of lift and no problems. I am currently giving my 1028 4" inches of lift with the front being re arched and the rear will be ORD shackle flip. I will let you know how it goes. So far I will have to say with 1009...
I just bought a 1028 out of some ones back yard for $1000 and now I will bring it back to its former glory. I was there about 20 minutes before a guy that was gonna part it out for a rock crawler.
I myself would not cut anything and do the 4 inch lift with springs. I had a 1984 silverado that I did a 4 inch lift and the bushwacker cutouts and I fit 36 swamper radials, I did alot of metal prep and painting to keep the trimmed fenders from rusting.
