Walking on thin ice here ----
BUT!!--strangely enough there is one of these pink Hot Wheels jeeps for sale on a "local" auction site. I saw it last nite while looking for old stuff. Says it's good shape for being 10 years old. Something about all boys in the family and the pink just ain't...
LOL! Yep--joshing you!!
Hadn't seen that done before and thought with MY luck if I tried that, I would lose them inside the tire/wheel and have to dig them out (and my sleep deprived mind "ran off" with the attempt at humor:wink:)
It does look like a pretty good idea--using what's...
WHAT!!!?? Are you nuts!!?? You could get your nuts smashed/pinched there----possibly even lose your nuts----If I were you I'd be alot more careful with your nuts-- they are not that easy to get new ones if you lose your old ones--------rofl
First, wlcome to the site from Salmon River Country.
I'll chime in here to say that BRAKES on your new 13,000lb toy are just a little bit important:wink:. To check the brake fluid , there is a little trap door in the driver's side floorboard just about where your right heel is while sitting...
Welcome to the madness! As stated above the Technical Manuals are your friend and are easy to come by.
My no winch gasser measured out at 144 1/4 from sheet metal to end of frame rails, add another 11 inches to get to the end of the bumperettes and 34 wide.

I have had very good luck with Gillispie thinned with Xylene (4/1). It does dry a bit shiny at first but "weathers in quickly to a pretty good all around match the the CARC. Very forgiving/easy to apply and a tenth of the cost of Acyrlic Urethanes I use on other stuff.
I don't mean to hi-jack...
As a hearing impaired person , I find myself going overboard when it comes to getting communications clear. You are so very right about words sounding the same but meaning totally opposite of what was intended----aggravate the situation with high background noise and you end up with a VERY real...
LOL!!
Speeding in a tank. Please tell me you kept the citation, framed and hung it on your "man-cave" wall. Now THAT would be a conversation piece!!
I have seen the vid of you and the Scorpion at speed, very cool but I shudder to think of the outcome if you were to blow/throw at track at...
I finally got time to sit down and try scanning some things. One is an ad I bought one e-bay, the other is an ad from the 1943 Aeroshere book.
The book is an "encyclopedia of aviation".
It is hard bound and is FULL of ads for just about ALL the companies that supplied stuff for the war effort...
Wreckerman,
In learning about this engine, I found that Guiberson used that very issue as a marketing tool. " Better safe than sorry" was the motto and is even on the Data plate. They claimed the Diesel was much safer for both Tank applications and Aircraft. I googled up a bunch of info on it...
Can you read the serial numbers for me? I have a Guiberson Diesel that I'm about 90% sure is NOS, I'll have to go check my serial number as well. Yea--they are really really cool--can't wait to get mine set up on a stand to run it.
Mine is a t-1020, says "Dept of Ships" on the Data plate...
Hey, Dennis
Sorry I have not had time to dig out my compressor to do the pics and measuring-- hopefully I can dig in to it soon.
BUT!! I looked on a map of Europe and found your town. I remember that Jaap Reitveld has some Cletracs for sale in Antwerp Belgium and that looks to be...
I would add that if you intend to skid on steep ground, you may be headed for a train wreck. If you snag a brake line on anything and dump your stopping ability on the ground at the wrong time it might get exciting-------------------.
Without a winch you are having to dead pull everything...
Hi, Dennis!
Yes! Always interested in your drawings etc.!
I have the "late" model compressor (from serial 7JA and up, the larger one) but it is REALLY buried in the back of a storage trailer. I can try to get access to it but it may be a few days.
And if you decide to sell a Cletrac...
Welcome to the madness from Salmon River Country! Nice truck.
I had to chuckle when you launched into your intro---you have no idea how similar a situation you have just got yourself into. At least with AA, they are trying to help you quit-----around here they just keep egging you on:p.
AND...
My son Derek worked for Columbia Helicopters (chaser/hooker) for a few years and learned a lot from the pilots about the operation of the Boeing Vertols they log with.
He told me that there is a certain temperature spread where they won't fly during a snow storm (a few degrees + or -) of...
