When I was in high school ('bout 700 years ago:-() the local veternarian (horse Doc) bought one.
I remember it had NDT tires like you find on a Jeep and likely the same size.It was kind of primitive. Think it was powered by a B&S and some kind of centrifigal clutch. It did articulate on the...
My Chevy G-506 1 1/2 ton is officially titled as a DODGE by the state! I get it running/driving ,the hood numbers will read "Bureaucratic Snafu" and the bumper numbers will be "4-F G-506"
Heh,Heh, wouldn't that be fun--"Oh, yes Officer thanks for checking on me but here's my tow now---WOPPA, WOPPA,WOPPA------"
I was on a Heli-Logging job years back and some D.A.K.'s rolled their pickup over the bank right in the middle of the show--the quick and easy way was decided as to...
Well sorry to say we don't have it any more but Dad had an Allis-Chalmers HD 14 dozer years back. It had data plates I remember but don't recall what they said as this was before I was interested in the hobby. Would anyone be familiar with that machine and what war (time) it was likely to be...
I agree with scrapdaddy-- have you tried a little gas down a spark plug hole or two or three ,replace plugs and try it?? Seems pretty far fetched but maybe-----
I think I have a pair of original seats for that rig. I got these at an estate auction (out of vehicle) but there were enough parts laying around (big red cross on pair of rear doors in close proximity) to lead me to believe these seats were from either a m725 Jeep or the M43 Dodge.
Plus after...
Welcome to the madness from SAlmon River Country and yes you have it correct---if yours is equipped with the sprague it senses back wheels slipping then engages the front axle. Also important-- if it is a sprague-- DON'T let the truck roll backwards when in a forward gear OR roll forward while...
Oh, yes you do know spit about something!! You know to ask for help on a very important (THE most important!)and complicated system on a 13,000 pound chunk of iron---the freakin' brakes!!!
Thank you for trying to help and thank you for learning this important job and not trying to bluff/guess...
Gary, I am from central Idaho. I ended up going to that auction for an M2 Medium High Speed tractor built by Cletrac.
I was going to stay home and bid per Kruse' online program then found out at the last minute the "boneyard" bidding wasn't going to be online!!! I had just enough time to...
Hey, I'd like to carpool this hi-jack and take it a bit further--what would be a good sealer/ liner to put in the water can after the rust has been removed.I would like to restore mine and actually use it for drinking water. Thanks from all of us in the carpool lane:).
Jim
HOLY CRAP!!! THAT is just TOO COOL!
I was there watching the bidding, then about the time it ended the other people bidding acted like they didn't realize the placement of the decimal point of the number involved!!??
Much confusion and so-called misunderstanding.
Then they started over...
I attended an auction in Yuma AZ in March 2007 that had probly the biggest collection of antique tractors In the country. I remember seeing a very rare tractor (among literally hundreds of other very rare tractors) that I think was a model built for the Navy--------would this be it??
Nice...
That appears to be a G-506 , fire truck variant. Chevy 1 1/2 ton. Some time late 1942 or later cuz I don't (can't ?) see the Chevrolet stamped on the engine side panels. Nice truck! You NEED that Glen!!!
Jim

Thanks for posting, I have a big tire project coming up soon so I'm considering any and all ideas.
Jim

I have decided that I need to be a good boy and get my feet back under me before dragging home any thing else. I am officially OUT of the running! Sounds like a good deal but not for me- not right now:roll:. Good luck to the seller and the buyer...
