I pulled my valve cover off to change the valve cover gasket. I noticed a large pool of oil between the # 2 and 3 valves. I'm not sure of the theory of this part of the engine; is that oil supposed to be there?

That's what I did. Man, I was not looking forward to tearing into that oil pump assembly. I got my endoscope that works with my phone and fished the magnet in and voila!
I got mine from QTM (quartertonparts.com). Not sure what you are looking for, but I wanted original looking and this was the best one I found and at a good price. They come in a butt-ugly color but it burns off rather quickly.
