Got my safari rack mounted... Im taking some 7" HID offroad lights off my 85 Silverado and installing them in front of the ammo boxes... Dont know what to tackle next... some square tube doors or a swing out tire carrier to replace the tailgate... decisions decisions...:-D:-D
Heres some pics of my Humvee seats and Humvee seatbelts... I dont got the best fabrication skills or resources to acclomplish such but I make do with what I have and tend to get the task at hand done most of the time... the pass seat is scooted back as far as it would go and the driver seat is...
I used the original seat brackets so that I could bolt them in to the original location... I bolted them on the outside of the seats (towards the door) and I bolted 1X1 square tubing under each seat and across to tie the whole assembly together... I'll get some pics up in the next couple of days...
For sure that would be cool... Turns out I met a guy yesterday that works at Idaho Steel that said he knew a guy named Roger from Ririe that owned a truck like mine and also a military Blazer... Im assuming thats you... He was at my friends shop in Ucon where I was welding up my roof rack... I...
Also a mock up on some of the items I might be mounting up top... Im gonna finish cleaning up some welds and will be painting it flat black... I plan on having it done and mounted by this weekend... will post some more pics when mounted...
Started my roof rack on Saturday... take it easy on critiquing my welds... it was seriously my first time welding... my friend helped me on the structural important welds and just let me run loose on the rest... I dont think I did that bad but its together and seems solid...
I cut up some metal to start building my safari/headache rack...gonna go to a buddys shop tomorrow and start welding it together... I'll post pics of the progress later next week...
Sweet lookin CUCV's plowboy... I seen you driving your 1028 in Idaho Falls a few months ago and also in Ririe a month ago or so... That lift and tire combo look awesome.. I hope to get a 6" lift and some meaty cleats on my 1028 soon... keep us updated on the progress...
