Thoughts on M818 for new work idea

as for creature comforts in a M818. The biggest upgrade you could possibly make is replacing the seat with either an airride commercial seat or stand alone truck seat with a fabricated mounting bracket. I drive military vehicles constatly as in i dont own a civilian vehicle. You tend to just get...

Turned 16, so time to drive!

if your sixteen and already getting to drive a MV what are you going to look forward to now? half the fun of owning one is trying to explain to your wife why "we" need one.

    My new M1009

with the lower horsepower in the 6.2 i wonder if the gearing was changed from the stock 3.08? if they havent dont be shocked if its seems a bit underpowered with those larger tires. nice rig. I love the 1009. I drive one as a daily driver and will not have anything else.

make sure you bring more fuel filters.... ask me how i knowaua. Oh and I dont know if anyone has ever told you but the windshield weatherstipping like to leak like crazy in the rain so you might want to bring some duck tape to seal it from the inside or it will no kidding be like its raining...

American armor on the streets of Egypt

I seem to remember another country that stood up against a dictator who was abusing them. It worked out okay for them if i remember correctly. Lets wait and see how this works out. It really depends on what fork in the road they take. If they take the democratic path and have free and fair...

Possible to use 9.00-20 tubes for 11.00-20 tires?

the 11.00 by 20.00 tubes are very common and cheap here. Why not buy them and ship them to germany and not have to worry about it. I was buying mine brand new for 17.00 a tire a few months ago.

American armor on the streets of Egypt

egypt under mubarrack is a classic example of "the devil you know" while not very friendly to US intrest he isnt openly hostile either. Same with the Israelis. He isnt friendly but not hostile either. The problem from this comes from the government falling and being replaced with a weak...

    Storm Chasing in a M35A2

have you thought about a m1009. the 6.2l engine gets better mileage than a gas Bronco is a 3/4 ton capacity and has hydraulic assist steering and brakes. and it cruises easily at 70mph. auction prices are about twice what a deuce is but they are more practicle for what your needing IMHO. You can...

M348 van trailer Redstone to Mt. Vernon IL

I asked wreckerman about getting one for me once. He said he doesnt have a tractor anymore although he knows a guy who can haul it for a fee. You might want to get it hauled to a storage lot until you can find someone to haul it. If i remember right they dont have the 12v/24v dual lights that...

    Possable Sabatoge- The Clean Up

I would put a motion activated light pointed at the truck. Most likelyif its going to be messed with it will be at home. A camera pointed in the same direction is just as easy they make a hard-drive version that loops back on itself so you only mess with it if you notice a problem

    lincoln city shooting

i had it pegged for not being a M1009 when he was pulled over for speeding. I hope justice is swift for the idiot

Dumb question about using gas in multifuel diesel

did you check and see if the FDC has been bypassed or not. There should be a sticker on the oil filter housing if it has. If so you dont need to run any exotic fuel mixes. If the sticker isnt around you still need to check the box in front of the injection pump and see if the low pressure fuel...

Soft Top Field Expedient Emergency Repair???

Honestly I would beg borrow or otherwise aquire a soft top. A deuce has the magical ability of sucking the heat out of you in cold weather and cooking you alive in warm weather. I would take the trip to clintogf's house and get a new top. I would also get some gorilla tape and seal the...
