I have a springer too, but in my tool box I keep 2 sets of fuel filters, oil, tire chains, jack, air impact, tire tools, air hose, zip ties, recovery chains and a whole crap load of other stuff that should be in there.
45 to 50 seems the most comfy for my truck. I know guys like to do 55 and 56 but I can't afford to see what connecting rods look like on the ground on a college budget.
You get to see a lot more going slow anyway.
I went through USAA and they said they couldn't do it but put me through to Progressive that did a commercial policy for 320 a year. No mileage restrictions and no load restrictions. I have about triple the state mandatory rate.

Same way my FJ40 came stock, but it is sprung under from the factory. I agree that they should be straitened and torqued down again but it looks fine to me.
That is pretty awesome. However, I don't think I could lose my tool rack. I think my old GI axe that I carry around is the most used tool I carry on the deuce.
After I sanded, scaled, and wire brushed the box it was actually in pretty good shape. I primered and repainted the whole outside, did a rust stabilizing primer and chassis paint on the inside.
It looks really good. I am going to reinstall it tomorrow once I am sure everything has cured...
How were they considered a failure? Every unit I was in that had them used the crap out of them. For everything. We liked those and the 1008s better then the 998s when it came to "not in Iraq" stuff.

Hey, I had that fixed in like 45 seconds! I already addressed that issue. I went out and got some better cables to I could position the cable in a way that there were not basically in contact with the box.
I got the thing sanded and primed last night. It is way more fun in my opinion to fix...
Dunno I was wearing ears and getting sprayed with rust dust.
The stock box is fine, just rusty. I have it mostly clean just need to get the residue off of it.
