Goodyear 16r 21's are 49" tall and weigh 500 lbs each

If it is a bobber then 49" tires will fit. If it still has tandem rears then 46" is as big as you can go.

    Axle grease melting?

The ambient temperature isn't melting the grease. Your gonna have to pull the hub apart and have a look.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Cutting oil and the correct amount of pressure on the bit keeps them from dulling too fast and breaking. Its something that you kinda learn the "feel" for.

    86 M35a2 with a '66 engine? Is this possible?

What the seller did would be the same as me selling my truck "fully restored" cause it was depot rebuilt in 91'. Of course I'm neglecting to mention the military continued to use the truck for almost 15 years before being sent to DRMO. Plus a private owner for a few years before I acquired it.

    What is this hose?

Any air hose of the correct id will work.

    ld 465 1c

The LD and ldt are basically the same engine. The LDS is the 5 ton engine. It is very similar to the ldt but not exactly the same. I can't name all of the differences tho.

m35a2 stalls out at higher rpms?

I'm unsure if bad HH o-rings can cause this problem but it wouldn't be a bad thing to check regardless.

    Super-Single spare tire swing/gate mount!

Ya I have seen his kit. I do like it and it looks to be very well made. I already have a hide-a-hitch off of......something.....laying in the yard that is the exact width of the frame. It also will tuck up closer to the pintle. I like keeping everything as high up as I can. I realize I will...

    Super-Single spare tire swing/gate mount!

I'm going to install a civi 2" receiver hitch on the back of my deuce. Then I'm going to fab up a bed crane that slides into the 2" receiver. That way I can store my 395 in the bed and have a way to get it in and out. Also the crane can be used for other lifting needs.

    Transmission Oil - 80w/90 vs SAE 40/50

Tractor supply stocks 40wt non-detergent. I'm unsure if they stock 50wt.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

What style airpak do you have? I have the short airpak and the air switch is tee'd into the service glad hand airline. If you post a picture it will be easy to identify what you have.

    Opinions Michelin XZL 365/85r20

Interesting G. I didn't realize they had 2 different aspect ratios in the 365 width. Not surprising really. As always your knowledge impresses me.

    Thinking about buying a deuce

Not trying to discourage you in any way, but be aware maintenance and repairs on these trucks can add up quick. With that being said, I love my deuce. There's always something I'm monkeying with on my truck. Not that its unreliable. Fixing and modifying things is my therapy. I can't leave...

    Opinions Michelin XZL 365/85r20

No kidding. There's a reason every tire dealer that sells the 365's says call for price and availability.

    Hydraulic Head Install Issue

I would just get a spare. They aren't usually rebuild able. Though, there is a thread where someone successfully repaired a sticking HH. Ambac also rebuilt them but they were also the manufacturer.

    Thinking about buying a deuce

Yes because the Asian made parts we are already dealing with are just fantastic....tho I guess that's better than no parts at all.

What did you do to your deuce this week?

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer to any of your questions except the last. I would guess the reason grease is blowing out of the passenger side boot is the inner axle seal is bad. My truck did the same thing. The grease mixes with gear oil and oozes out of the zipper. Pm me if your...

Air Compressor ? oil out the drain tanks

There was literally a thread on this a few days ago.

    Transmission Oil - 80w/90 vs SAE 40/50

I run 40wt non detergent motor oil. It made shifting a bit better. The synchros seem to mesh better.

Deuce Front Fenders, Boots and Turbo

Like I said, it loves to collect water. Which causes rust. The driver side one on my truck is in decent shape. The passenger side is pretty rough. Nice repair chevracer. I'll be doing the same on my truck before too many more months pass by.
