Fording kit
I bought my m35a2 fording kit on ebay probably about 4 years ago and it was in Canada. I have yet to finish installing all the "plumbing" but I have it. The external stuff isd on. Anyone out there have the instructions on exactly how the regulator and valve is all hooked up?
Glow plugs
Anyone that needs glow plugs needs to call Parramore in Florida. He has the correct glow plugs for the Cucv Wellman 070's for 6.50 each and the HMMWV for 7.50 each. I dont think you can beat the price. WWW.PARRAMORE.COM
DO NOT BUY FROM SS DIESEL...
Who is running SS diesel supply glow plugs in their CUCV now with a stock functioning military system? How long have they been in there? Which plugs did you order? Is anyone having problems?
thanks.
oil
Mine has stencilled under the hood use 15w40 only. Im sure about everyone use the rotella 15w40. I prefer the valvoline 15w-40 premium blue. Im sure they are about the same
Well, my truck certainly didnt like them...I understand I was trying to "reengineer the system" but I wouldnt think they should have blown them like that. maybe next time I will try the AC60g's instead of his "super plugs". Cross you fingers, Ive got the SSd-8 regular plugs in it and it is doing...
glow plugs
The website says 1 year unconditional guarantee on the military "24 v" plugs. I bypassed the resistor and put in the "24 volt" plugs they sell as an experiment. The truck blew them up in a couple of days and swelled the ends. Im back to stock with a takeout resistor and regular plugs...
glow plugs
I just tried to bypass the resistor and use 24 volt ss diesel plugs. The plugs would come on and then go back off. They would not stay on long enough for them to heat up and start on a cold morning. I had a new controller in place and it would not work. Put the regular plugs back in...
12v SSD-8 is their part number. They have the wider blade than stock so if you use the original connectors, you have to file down the blade; if the your terminals are bad, replace them with the nice insulated female terminals
Quit whining and just get off that money and replace it . If you want a nice truck, you're going to have to put a little in it :)
I have a Sam Winer new radiator in my truck and it is nice. Was cheaper/equal to buying a new one so I didnt mess with recoring the existing one.
shop van body
I just took off my cargo bed and replaced it with a m109 shop van body. Direct fit. Just a major job lifting on the shop van body and setting it in the exact place (even with the help of a m816 wrecker). All bolts line up exact.
Ill check it when I get home tonight. I put a new solenoid on it when I put the plugs in it for good measure. I think the controller is screwed up. Probably had its roots with Macintosh
unplugged the wire to each plug and test light the plugs.
How would they not be getting voltage if the solenoid is cyling on and off? When the glow plugs were bad before (6 months ago) the light would just turn on and then turn right back off.
