RE: Re: RE: Dead trailer(s)
Long story:
I build a small box trailer when I was a lieutenant to use for our move to Fort Eustis from Fort Devens. It was build using a car axle and RV siding that was available as well as a plywood floor. Well being a mechanic the trailer was loaded way heavier...
Mike thanks for picking that up and glad you made it safely home after the all nighter. Murrays is a great place to wander around if you have time and they are great folks too.
Wow that is great that it is back home and the bad guy is apprehended. Have to wonder what increased security measures will be taken. I like the X10 cameras they are cheap and log the stream onto your computer
Awesome write up and recovery, can you add some flavor on what it felt like going over on the side? I know being the first officer to ride in the roll over protection trainer in Iraq it is a feeling that nothing else compares to. You are right about thanking God for the snow it would have been...
I love what WGT does for the LEO and others that need these vehicles the last M113 was HOT! You can see the digital paint job in the gallery shot.
Yes please keep up the post with updated picts
I hope this gets resolved I know the MRAP is much better at protecting our Soldiers from IED's and I would like the US companies to keep open providing jobs to Americans. I was trying to get the Army to send more of the retrograded items back to America for small businesses to sort and rehab...
RE: Hmmmm
Grey Wolf thanks for the excellent review of the FMTV problems I hate to see them replacing the 900 series which got me through three combat tours.
On ground issues I concure I had an old Dodge Dart 1963 that had an excellent 170 slant six and three on the tree one day on the road...
Mike please put me down for one space for the M1009 I will talk to the boys and ensure they know to attend since I will be in Korea. I will send you a postal money order. Please PM me your snail mail address.
Thanks for all the work you do on this great rally. If anyone has not gone try to...
RE: Re: RE: LOUD bang in drive train....M813
Chri:
Do you recommend disconnecting and removing the front drive shaft for me to bring my truck home on the long drive? I now may be headed west to the DFW area to pick up a trailer if what my son told me is true so we would be making a near 2,000...
When does that air?
We moved a huge house from Worster Mass to a new lot about four miles away. The guy got the house for a song and had one beautiful site just above the Norton Abrasives plant. The house was sold because an Insurance company bought the land for parking. It was a full three...
I worked for a man who moved homes and buildings up in Massachucettes when I was in college using a big Kenworth with 600 HP talk about crawling that job is a slow go for sure perfect for an old 10 ton.
The only issue with JP8 is it does not have as much energy in it so the performace will suffer just slightly. We had big diesel generators in Iraq that would not tolerate JP8 they were electronicly controlled and the things would kick off line on JP8 but run fine on straight diesel.
Guys on AR-15.COM always use the boating accident line.. Sorry ATF that gun went to the bottom of the ocean when I was in a boating accident...All you need is a rubber raft for that line.
Kenny add in a couple of cut off 55 gallons drums and you can also burn the waste from all the folks like we do in the Army just make sure the wind it blowing away from camp and you add some mogas to the JP8.
It always seemed that the wind shifted from those burning barrels toward my hooch...
I drove our M1009 from Baltimore to Washington repeatedly for a few weeks and was getting over 20 MPG on AAFES Diesel. Why would you want a gas engine in this truck?
I have convoyed in them in Iraq and Afghanistan and they are meeting the requirements better than the unarmored version but as stated the Army is now bringing in the MRAP to replace them for high risk movements. The Convoy Support Vehicle is good but also has maintainance issues. The...
