I went with screws on the hood welting and I used wide head aluminum rivets to fasten the rubber cowl/fender welting, those skinny steel ones looked like they would pull through the rubber in no time....your truck looks great!
And after you check and re-grease the ( solid ) trunnion bearings re install using two bearing nuts instead of just the one, and if you don't already have one then drill and install a grease fitting in the bearing housing ( see pic ) I also drilled drain holes in the bolt slots ( see pic )
According to Army TB below ( read para,3,A ) you can mix dot 3 with dot 5 in the meantime while awaiting full conversion to BFS

Looks like a early M-37 ( firewall mounted fuel filter ) that was upgraded with door mount (B1) spare tire. Its rare to get one with the snorkels ( fording kit ).
Very nice unmolested truck you have there ( even still has the correct radiator hose clamps [thumbzup] )
I did it the lazy way on both my deuce beds, I drilled 4, 1/4" holes in the bed floor and bolted the lifting chains to the bed and lifted them that way
I just bought three tires on rims for my deuce ( $25 each ) and when I was unloading them I came across this ( recessed) rim in the group....Is this a M135 rim??
