Well I finally had enough of my rotted battery tray. The batteries were flopping around and the movement caused so much wear on the cable lugs that it started arcing when I went to start it. There wasn't enough material left to hook a ratchet strap or even a bungee cord!

You're right!! It is gear oil, it stinks just like it! I'm not sure why it was so black, it's fresh from the swap. Maybe it picked up old grease and clutch dust from the bell housing?

Well after almost 8 months I'm back on the road!
This weekend I got the trans back in, adjusted the clutch and went for a ride!
She ran better than I ever could have expected; more power, better throttle response and excellent clutch response. She is running like a new truck.

Fixed the relay today, something to keep an eye out for.
Not sure if it was when I was removing it or installing it but I spun the control stud on the top. I spun it enough times to twist the wire inside the cap and cause it to break off at the solder point.

Dont think these specs are correct, didn't get anywhere near that before I stripped out two pressure plate mounting holes on the flywheel. Don't know what the heck to do now! Heli coil? Longer bolt? Wider bolt?
Quick question for anyone who knows.
My new multi has the red paint on the flywheel face and the pressure plate disc, do I need to remove that paint completely before I install the clutch or is it ok to leave it on? I have heard conflicting opinions.
