Wow great work and attention to detail!! This is not a good thread for me to read, as I am going to paint my truck next week! lol Someday I will have a shop big enough to do a project like this!
Interesting views, I thought they were supposed to be the coolest thing since sliced bread. But like anything you give them a few years to work out the bugs and they just might be. In my personal opinion the '70s era of trucks just seam like they are built tough as you can get. Good Videos Mike!
Chris this is the truck that we bought the same time that you won your dropside. It came from the same place as yours. The bed from this truck is now on my M818.
It is rapco "current issue od" I can get the part # for ya. I just got 3 gallons of it to paint my truck and trailer. I will post pics later of the paint job!
That may be, I do not know much about them, but I can talk from experience that it does not take much to take any "crane" or "boom truck" off its wheels. I am just safety cautious thats all.
When getting my Crane Cert. class we also saw many many videos of situations like that.
I like how the boom is extended to the left at about a 90 degree angle, and the left side outriggers are not down. You can also see it listing to the left a bit. Great find! Glad to see it is still being used!
Yes, Joyce is an outstanding gal... a little too old for me though. Lol. Sounds good that you might have to get it your self it is safe sitting where it is now. Last weekend was my Bachelor party...This weekend I am getting married. Thursday will prob be my last day on here for a few weeks.
Mike, I am glad that you did not go away empty handed. I heard that you also got a parking brake cable. I am sorry that you came all the way down for that. I should have known not to take peoples word on something like that. At least you got to see some of our area. Did Thane have his deuce down...
More power, but keep it original............... BUY A 5 TON. Seriously though what ever you decide think of the things that it powers and how and what these trucks were engineered for.
The deuce tractor and non turbo deuce and teh WC 52 have been bought along with the tranny, and transfer in the bridge truck. So if anyone goes out there please do not pull parts off of these. Thanks
