I live an hour north of memphis and can help if needed. Honestly I would call Eric at Hotshot and just get it shipped. I have a some people ive used in the past that would haul it for about the same as going and getting it when you figure a two way trip.
I dont think its going to be too cold at all....... in the trailer......:-D
this way i can carry my fishing stuff and im not sure what the hunting seasons are in august for BC and Yukon but i will before then. Im making this a once in a lifetime trip.
yeah i was thinking about that.... then i realised that the convoy itself is like 3 weeks long and im looking at 5 days up from tennessee and 5 days back. Thats a month and some change living out of the back of a cargo trailer and i think im gonna pass. Even a small bumper pull with almost no...
Ummm ..... 2500 miles from Tennessee to Dawson Creek . Then another 3400 miles at 35 mph +/- through northern Canada and central and south Alaska. Then another 2500 miles coming back to Tennessee.. Oh I so have to go.
I WONT be doing it in a M35/M818/GamaGoat/Unimog or anything else I couldnt...
I agree with Tennmogger. When your dealing with a vehicle that size you hit a point of it being too big to do anything practicle as a camper with any offroad capability. The reason the military can get away with having something as big as a HEMTT or 5 ton with a electronics box (camper) on it is...
installed a solargizer from a parts m35a2 i had laying around. Mounted the solar panel on the hood because it doesnt matter to me where it goes. could have monuted it inside on the dash just as easy but oh well.
actually with dual 100 amp altenators I dont see what you are going to gain by converting to 12v. Just run whatever extra your going to run off the front battery. The DS alt charges the front 12v side battery. The battery charging system doesnt become 24v until the post closest to the firewall...
I wonder who bought the triwalls, I need a few sets of pioneer kits. The only one ive ever had that had the pioneer kit was a unimog i got from the swiss military, That one came with the pioneer kit, tool kit, spare parts kit, and wheel chock.......... if they could all be so easy
:ditto:that is the easiest way to do it. the one i have now bypasses the control card completly. I have a two wires running to the switch in the cab from the glow plug relay. It came from the GL lot that way or i would be doing it as stated above. Ditto on the starter switch or similar momentary...

first off very nicely done and welcome to the site. We dont have near enough members from across the pond. I am a Marine and ill look at some of the older photos i have to see what is correct. Additional pics of the artillery would be appreciated.
i think this is kinda a far fetched thread for allot of us. If a big disaster hits its probably going to be regional which means you can drive somewhere else in your green monster and use that all important survival tool..... the credit card. If its a global or nationwide outage or shutdown...
I remember being in a uparmored with no AC (working anyway) in western Iraq in August i think it was close to 130 outside. Somebody just couldnt take it anymore and cracked the armored window in the humvee and it felt like a spring breeze compaired to what it was inside the cab.......you didnt...
where is your sense of adventure....... half the fun of military vehicles is wondering if its going to start. besides if it does work you have an emergency set of batteries. if it doesnt your out 30 cents worth of Epsom salt. This is a no lose situation IMHO
