Got to test the brakes with a trailer on day before yesterday. Did a full pedal brake check and she stopped in about 50' at 55 mph on dry asphault with only two little chirps. I was impressed. Best brakes I ever had on a pickup. Usually they underperform or overperform locking up. And cucvlover...
Entered mine in the local Barnesville Pumpkin Festival parade. It was the only MV, but the spectaters were none the less excited. All of the children loved the truck as well as most adults. They had approximately 3000 spectators, which is a big crowd for these parts. My mom rode shotgun in her...
Very nice truck! I got lucky on the deal I got mine for from GP. I was shocked I won with the fairly low bid I placed. Rough looking ones went for thousands higher the following week, and pretty much since then. Your green unit looks mean!
That is funny. I use a trailer a lot and them convex mirrors stink for detailed visibility when backing up with my half a century old eyes. I used to bad talk GM so much for putting one on my last 86 civy unit. However, on the highway (or autobahn in your case), it is better. I just avoid...
In doing my brakes the other day, I was shocked they also went light duty on the front brake's dust/stone shield behind the rotors. Any 3/4 ton I had of square body civy units had the heavy steel ones. Then I get a 1 1/4 ton built for our military and they are tin.
Had the infamous metal to metal brake grind on my way to mow a couple places the other day. Funny thing is that I just told someone that I need to check the brakes on it and my VW soon before cold weather strikes. Missed it by that much (Adam Smart 1" finger gap)! Got the rotor turned for $15...
Ok. Was at location where my older M1082 trailer is and remembered to take pics, even though it was dark. This is the setup made for the ladder that has no way to use for ramps. The last picture of the bottom of the ladder shows it doesn't touch the ground making it nice to move around the yard...
Not saying I was one of them. Especially in the example you used! Heck, I gotta be patient enough in the humvee realm to save up the cash to buy one before I even get to start dealing with the GP/government drama!
Wasn't there someone earlier in this thread saying how they do indeed export the humvees. I know that, to me, exporting them defeats the purpose of the EUC and it upsets me that we have to go through the EUC drama for nothing if they do allow some buyers to export them.
If the ctis is the same as the m939 series, you can hit run flat button and it will air up your low tires. As for the deflation, well I am not in the know.
All the bayonets too. Also, gotta remember they are government jobs which overly spoil their (our) employees. That means one whole heck of a lot of freebie days off.
I can feel your dedication and I also understand that the original poster is from MA and, heck, I would like some confirmation before driving 1000 miles to see it in person too.
