    Looks like the same stuff i flush out of water heater a white like pasty substance! Its from using tap water, the minerals and lime turn into that white sludge.....

    Looks good i did mine in pine! The orginals were a combo of pine and cedar! I put four layers of carc on them and burned the old ones which fell apart as soon as i unbolted them!

    4 coats of carc inside and out replaced the wood sides!

    Those are very common rot spots on these trucks, cut out a small section at a time and weld piece in! Or like southern said cut the whole roof and weld a new one on!!!
