Yep, it's a Freightshaker cattle bar. It fits the Freightliner day cabs the military bought and is still buying. Rugged as all get go, but not for a Deuce or Five Ton. They are worth big $$$$ in the right market. Advertise in a truck stop like Flying J or Pilot and you'll see what I mean...
I guess it goes to show tanks can't go everywhere or run over everything! How much you want to bet the crew had to change their shorts after that?
Robert,
Nah, everyone always has a spare 30k in the bank. Don't you? It is just a wee might expensive. Maybe if it had A/C, P/S, leather interior and so on....
Trango,
OMG! That's outrageous! I can't wait to see more pics! That's way too cool to just be sitting around. It's begging to squish a H2 or something!
Robert,
I don't mind having to back off the pressure to unlock the hub. You're right, 95% of the time she'll be unlocked anyway. About the only time I'll lock her down is in snow or mud or snowy mud (the worst). Once I'm on solid ground I don't mind backing up an inch or two to unlock the...
Opie,
I have 'Storm plated at #26,000 in Indiana. No CDL required due to weight and air over hydraulic brakes. The tongue weight would in theory put it over 26k. However, in Indiana, if a full trailer, not a semi, is being pulled with fully operational brakes on all axles the trailer is...
Lee,
We're working on it. As soon as Robert lets me know when to drive on down, I'm dropping off 'Storm for her fitting. I'm looking to improve fuel economy on her and have the added option of a lockout on the drives. We'll see how it goes.
Robert,
My intention is to make her a road truck. I used to live in Snellville, GA. I'm very familiar with the trip and 'Storm has travelled much further than Carrollton without a hint of problems. She's definitely road worthy. If you want to split fuel costs I'll definitely include the 10kw...
SG,
Not really. I'd do it myself if I had a turbo boost and pyrometer. My problem is all my money right now is in my Masters degree (I start teaching first graders for real on Tuesday). Once I get some real cash flow going I'm looking to aquire these things and asking some serious questions...
Brad,
Thank God having fun like that isn't illegal! I get a big thrill from driving 'Storm whenever I can afford the fuel. In all reality, even though I hate snow, I need another blizzard to get some more semis out of ditches and get more free diesel!
Dodgetruckin,
Could you please look at your signature and add the state in (as a minimum). I might know someone nearby whom could help in your endeavors......
SG,
How much? It looks awesome just sitting there (yeah I'm sure that really helped). Looks like a mulitfuel, not the 250 Cummins though.
Westech,
I'm ASE certified too. However, the tolerances on the injector pump are so tight I recommend using a diesel injector shop. They have the know-how to do it right the first time. All it takes on these pumps is a microscopic piece of dust to ruin them beyond repair. I know because this...
