HI,
I just brought home a M149a2. I've read here a little about cleaning and sanitizing with chlorine, but I've read online not to use chlorine and I don't want that taste or smell. I certainly don't want to damage the stainless tank and I'd like to remove the iron water stains. I also wonder...
maybe a little less than scrap price if he does the work of getting rid of it for you. I personally would give it to him, sounds like a worthwhile project rather than have it end up in china.
Prying against the head of the riv nut was the ticket. I had one of the three that would remove so I concentrated on the one next to it, then used the bracket itself for leverage on the top 2. One funny thing is when the bracket was installed a piece of gravel was caught between the bracket and...
My search says the antenna bracket is held on by riv nuts. Three of the 4 bolts have spinning riv nuts. I'm not familiar with these fasteners. Can anyone give me some ideas/tips on how to remove the spinning bolts so I can remove the bracket?
Thanks
found some pictures of the truck and shelter
These pictures were taken soon after I put the shelter on the truck. I would like to identify how and what was used in this shelter when it was in service. Any ideas on how to get some ventilation in there would be good too.
Thanks,
I'll try to get some pictures soon of the shelter. Right now it's backed up in some brush and the truck needs batteries to get it out. Minor details. One thing it has that I haven't seen on other shelters is jacks so I could use it like a camper.
Any family feud is too much fued for me.
Anyway Carnac, I think we are on the same page now.
The bracket I would like to find is the special one found in the sincgars app that attaches to the existing common bracket.
It is shown in other TM's to.
However the military wanted the CUCV set up determined what went on that reinforcement bracket.
I like the radio look.
Hope somebody posts with the dimensions of the mounting plate that goes on the dash reinforcement bracket.
Thanks,
Greg
One thing about them I noticed is that no 2 of them seem to be alike as far as vents or other openings. I'm mostly interested in what radios and antennas they typically had installed. I haven't done anything with mine yet. There is no ventilation, I need to work on that or risk suffocation in there.
Howey, I was told I needed the same exact setup you have to use the new MK2418 kit I bought. That base I bought last week is what has gotten me started looking for the necessary components. RT524, c2299 and a cx4723, 13'. I also got the speaker, but I wasn't told I needed that. I just got the...
I have a m1028 with a shelter so I'm looking for information on what all went inside it. I found a new nos clock last night (from the pictures in this thread) so I have a start, but a long way to go. What antenna would have been typically associated with a s-250 shelter? More questions to...
Thanks gungearz, I may try that. Its a tight place to work with the air shift controls and lines in the same area. When I bought replacement duct for the connection between the heater and the control box,(just after I removed it) I bought a very short piece so I'm thinking in my original...
Yes, but it is inside the cab and the control box for the heater which controls whether you send air to your feet or the windshield through the ducts is my problem. It is operated by a cable attached to an arm on the side of the box.
This control box, I believe is the same one used in...
Hi everyone, I removed mine about 10 months ago to clean the mice nests out of the ducts and clean out the control box and the actual heater unit. Now that it has taken me so long to accomplish this I can't remember how the control box fits under the dash. The heater unit is mounted under the...
This truck is not home with me so I can't experiment. I took some pictures of the battery box, but it was getting dark so they are less than good.
The truck has a 24 volt starter and the rest of the truck is 12 volts. It has 1 solenoid on the starter and what appears to be another solenoid in...
