Since the topic of "how hard is it to work on a deuce" just came up, I felt inspired to snap a few pictures and share them after working on my M35A2C today:

Time for a nap in front of the air conditioner now... :)
I'm certainly no expert on women, but I suspect that many of them would react negatively to the suggestion that you'll need a HET, PLS, Dragon Wagon, etc. to haul their butt back home. rofl
Like others have said, the deuce is mechanically simple, but you'll need bigger tools... 1/2" and 3/4" impact wrenches plus sockets, big jack stands, big bottle jack, wheel lift, and a strong back. Here's one of my deuces (long since sold) when I was rotating the tires...
Dang, I really wish I had a spare $21k so I could give your truck a good home, but I'm digging myself into debt with a home construction project. Well, actually, the digging hasn't quite started... #^%&$! county and their *^%!^$# paperwork and ^&#$%&! bureaucracy... :(
Can't tell much from one picture, but the tires are inflated and the headlamps are still there, and I figure that's a good sign (easily removed common parts like headlights love to wander away from dead trucks!). If you paid under a grand like folks are saying, you may have gotten a good deal...
Sounds like a good time! I'd love to see more pictures of the commo shelter that I think I see through the trees on your truck. And as long as you need one more post, anyway... ;)
Edited to add: Hey, I'm at 49 posts... I need one more, too!
Edited again to add: Ok, it occured to me...
I'd like to join in on the 14th, as long as nothing comes up to conflict with the trip. I told another MV collector friend of mine who doesn't hang out here, and he'd like to go, too. We would both meet y'all there at the yard, I guess.
RE: GL
This kind of BS is a big part of why I've stopped paying attention to GL auctions.
Based on their (absurd, one-sided, and IMHO illegal) terms of sale, I would not be at all surprised if they banned you from bidding again. I'm not trying to condone this, but it's what I expect they'll...
Since it's over 25 years old, I think you should be OK. Is this your first time registering a vehicle as Historical in CA that has not previously had a CA title? If it is, I'll try to give you some pointers. This is far enough away from what the typical DMV clerk does every day that the process...
That tan shop van sure reminds me of my first deuce (and first MV, for that matter), which I got through the Barstow DRMO back in `99.
I just got an email a few days ago from a random stranger who's looking for a shop van in Southern CA, and who stumbled on my web site. If that tan van is...
Ok, that makes sense. I knew (?) that just plugging in one or the other plug wouldn't work, but it didn't occur to me that plugging both jacks in would do the trick (duh!).
I could be mistaken, but I was under the impression that the headsets like this one with a "Y" cable for plugging into an AN/VIC-1 system would not plug directly into a radio because of the way the various signals are split between the two connectors.
I like the buzzer cut-off button with latching relay. It lets you kill the buzzer on start-up, without risk of forgetting to turn it back on before driving. I would wire the low air light to stay on when I kill the buzzer.
