Glad you had a good inspection. I'm surprised that grabby brakes are normal. Its odd that I haven't experienced it. It may be that I back down a 300' driveway or I use my truck everyday. I do know I use my brakes less than most people. I have a 79 ford pickup, I bought new that still has the...
I have a truck I'd sell too, I didn't have a EUC on it. I do not know what is required to get it overseas. If the buyer has the paperwork and I have the payment. I'd deliver it to the closest port. The thing to watch out for is all the scams. For awhile there somebody was finding money in Iraq...
With the rubber grommet out you can see in there pretty good. I just didn't realize there are 2 holes in there that are 180* apart. All the holes line up with the pin in the wrong hole also but one bolt won't fit. Looks like it should, but with the pin in the slotted hole, (which is the only...
So far, I've only gone about 7 or 8 miles, but it runs fine and idles nice. I'm alittle worried I may have advanced it too much. Is there any symptom that points to this? I don't feel a lack of power, but no seat of the pants power gains either with in town driving. I also drilled 3 large holes...
If the pressure is higher wouldn't it also affect the front? and with lighter pedal pressure being required wouldn't that be the only issue. I have had 3 M1009's as daily drivers, I haven't noticed any grabbing with any of them, freezing winter weather or summer heat. I think something is wrong...
Let me say 1st, I'm not a mechanic. Things like this take me alot longer. I was going to swap valve covers, because the old ones are ugly but they aren't leaking and I needed the truck running so that didn't get done. I know the IP was bad because I had to clean out the glass bead return twice...
The rubber mounts are broken out and pieces of the aluminum frame are gone. The army bolted L shaped brackets to the truck frame and what is left of the box frame. It is a rigid mount now, no rubber cushioning.
The good part is they are simple to work on. My 2008 ford just out of warranty, leaking master cyl - $800. The MC itself was $550. I have a M1009, I haven't spent $300 on it in 4 years, I drive it everyday, parts are cheap, but it will require maintenance you can do yourself. If your willing to...
Does any know where the linkage that runs off the actuator to the IP can be found? Hopefully someone has this linkage and is not running a generator. Thanks...
It must be rev'd pretty tight at 70. Does it pull the Siskiyous? I would like to put a set of those axles under my M1009, but I'm afraid of the mileage and high revs.
I think that would be the only concern with the intake gasket, is it wouldn't seal as good, but if it didn't it wouldn't get much unfiltered air under it. It isn't the cost of the gaskets it was waiting for the delivery. I should have ordered it all before I started. I have cleaned off the old...
I pulled a 1/4 ton trailer with my M1009 but it was tied down on top of a car trailer. I'm not sure why the military put such a low limit on towing but it may have been because of the 10 bolt axle and 3,08 gearing plus the lack of braking power. The hitch looks like it can tow much more. Its...
Thanks to all of you for the ideas. I don't have a big tool selection. Ralbelt, possibly I can get this crows foot, is that what it is actually called? I'll ask napa for a crows foot? I think I'll remove the old IP with the lines attached as Jasher45 suggests, and assemble the new pipes on the...
How do you guys install the injection pump pipes to the injection pump. I don't see an easy way to tell if they are in the correct position since the bottom pipes on the IP can't be tightened after the pump is installed. Do you install those bottom pipes to the IP loose, then install the IP, get...
