    starting issues

clean all connections. check the water in the batteries (if you can). also spray some kind of penetrating oil on all connections after you clean them. it will help keep a better connection in the future

I havent tried much on my deuce because things are sealed so much.... but sometimes you can take a switch apart and clean up contacts etc, and it will work just fine. I had a starter switch on my truck go bad and i just got another one. I looked at my starter switch on my truck and it looks...

Reached a Milestone with the Deuce

I feel i have reached a milestone with the Deuce. On my way home from work yesterday. I brought my first Deuce home on my birthday (April 11th) and the odometer turned 30,868 miles. That means i put 3000 miles on the truck since April! :-) It seems like i've been everywhere and done so much with...

    Jesus Gatos wheel center flip

Wouldnt having the center of the wheels farther out from the kingpins make the bushings wear faster? expecially on a winch truck? anybody have any experience with this? i just grease mine about every 500 miles just because it makes me feel good to know they have plenty or grease.

Deuce in the sand at the dunes?

Seems like a half track would work good for a recovery vehicle in sand. i havent had any experience driving my deuce in sand, but just thinking it would be. I know the thread was covered before, but a deuce half track would be sweet! Like a set of tracks that could be installed in the field over...

Deuce in the sand at the dunes?

I know the data plate on the dash says to air the tires down to 15PSI for mud and sand....i guess thats where i would start. obviously make sure you can air them back up for the trip home. Its so nice having air on the truck to do stuff like that :D

    2nd alternator, 12V

Looks very nice! I was thinking about the same kind of set up, and i like how you made it so no modifications are necessary... good approach. How did you find the measurments for the holes? just a rough measurement? It looks real precise. I was going to swap out my 6TL batterys soon for some...

Ring Gear Inspection: How to rotate the engine?

Well i checked out the ring gear when i had the starter out and it all looked good. the starter drive was whooped. new starter drive and new starter solenoid and it looks good. the guy that rebuilt it is a real old guy that really knows his stuff, so i trust him there, but there is still a...

    Onboard WMO filtration

So i have been doing some thinking about building some kind of setup to go under the passanger seat in my M35A2 to filter WMO and dump it straight into the tank. here is my thoughts. get a 1/4hp 24VDC motor and belt that to a power steering pump. i would get the power steering pump from the...

    The LDT-465 that ran backwards

I agree... oil pumps dont work backwards...and how long did they run backwards and the bearings were still ok? Then i read other threads about spin on oil filter conversions and building oil pressure fast. thats good and all, but has anybody ever damaged their engine by having it run backwards...

    governer operating shaft problem

yea, i wouldnt think the cab would shift either, but i was just brain storming. even if it did, it shouldnt matter that much because the linkage would move some and the throttle pedal would move up and down a little. Tractorpuller, what did you do to the throttle speed stop plate that fixed...
