I am a current member of the national MVPA but not a state chapter member, not until there are some leadership changes. I have attempted to include them (chapter leadership) in our legislative proposals and will continue to communicate with them about it but I have yet to get a response. That...
I agree with a lot of what has been stated. We need to take action and get any issues taken care of before they come to light. Nip it in the butt. We definitely need to involve as many folks as possible, especially the MVPA. Complaining about them isn't going to do us any good. I know I...
Progressive also has a historic vehicle insurance but it has limits. I found that out a month or so ago because I was trying to get it to where all my vehicles were with one insurance company but that didn't work out. So far State Farm as done me good with my MV insurance. I have Progressive...
I think that has a lot to do with the age difference and style of club management. It could also be an economical one as well. You have to pay a due to be a member of the national MVPA and pay dues to be a local chapter member. Here on SS you have a choice of being a freebie member or paying...
I agree and have been contemplating this same action. About a month or so ago I sent an email to the MVPA asking if there could be some sort of committee put together to handle this. I suggested that it be comprised of folks from each state that would act as liaisons for their state. I am...
I know it was well worth me missing out on a day of overtime at work. I would say the highlight for me was when Sherman told Shirley she could go sit in the humvee. Next thing I hear is it firing up :) That was priceless!!! I bet she is wanting a humvee after that.
My deuce was the first and I got it because I thought it would be so cool to own one. Then the addiction took over. I get on the OD wagon and then I fall off.
I will give some advice if you are going to make up some tow air lines. Find good gladhands. I got some cheapo aluminum ones from a truck stop and they weren't threaded very good. It was a PITA to get it put together but they worked.
I'm just glad that I could help and save you some money on having it towed. I'm glad you got that starter out and that was the problem.
Any time you need some assistance down this way just let me know. It was better than being at work today that's for sure.
Of course I threw in some extra shots of all the other MVs there as well :) Just for viewing pleasure.
I also forgot to mention that this wouldn't have happened without weldersam offering up his towbar for the recovery.
Well a fellow member bought a really nice M923 at Camp Robinson in NLR, AR. I offered my assistance with his recovery. Going into it we knew there was a possibility that it may need to be towed. I met up with Doubled a wee bit before 9am this morning at the commercial gate. We met up with...
Yeah it would be nice to have a mount but for the love of God, managing one by yourself is crazy. I know I just had my first experience with one and OMG. Now I know why the military wants you to be fit and do so much PT.
I do just about the same. I conduct myself much more professional in my MV than my civi. I tend to be way more cautious and patient driving my MVs.
This is an excellent thread because with all the non-MV friendly legislation happening we do need to watch how we conduct ourselves in these...
I usually like to go out and look at them for a minute and then come running into the house to tell my wife that she really has to check this out....... Then when she gets outside, I point to to all the MVs in the yard :) I usually do that at least once a week.
I am starting this as a quick reference for the 939 newbies. Plus I think it will be great to see what everyone is using. Post up what series you have and the info of what types of fluids and grease you use.
You have a point diverman555. I thought this was a great thread and it actually helped me out. It got me to really take a look at my system and read up on it a little more. I don't like the negative comments because it does deter people from asking questions or sharing issues or events such...
No big deal. I was so busy today that I couldn't get my fix until now. This stuff happens because there are some really dedicated folks out there with nothing else better to do than hack. At least we are back up and running. You are doing a great job!!!!
