Won one at French Camp today

Just my 2 cents but I would take a credit card and fly in borrow your parents car go buy two batteries at Advance Auto or Autozone and take them with you. Sub them in for the old duece batteries and start it up. I have seen so many dueces start right up after sitting for long periods the odds...

    What does this insignia represent?

During the first Gulf War we relised after getting to the desert that all vehicles look pretty similar to a jet fighter bomber and a guy on a ring mount at a long distance. In order to prevent fratricide the command made a decicion to put this symbol on every allied vehicle for rapid ID. On...

    M52 on 16x20 XZL's

RE: wheel specs Now I really can't wait for my 1957 M 52 Gasser to get the paperwork done. Mine does not look anything like that but the needle gun is ready and the weather is starting to break so I am hopeful to make it look better but I don't think it will ever look as nice as yours, very...

R6602 Gasser In A Bobbed Deuce???

So the 1957 M 52 I am getting should stay with a 6602 and be good enough to pull the M 127 right? I know we had bid old gas engines in old trucks on our farm and they just seemed to run and run year after year. points and plugs seemed to be all we ever had to do to them.

    New Deuce Win...

Andrew: This is great news I hoped you were going to drive it home. I did for mine and it was a blast getting to know the truck on the 300 mile trip. I will keep your trip in my prayers and look forward to seeing the truck with you and your family in it.

    welding on a Deuce

I always get the ground clamp as close to the weld as possible because I have seen a ground too far away ignite stainless steel brake lines toasting them as soon as the arc was struck.

    New Deuce Win...

Andrew: What days are you planning to do this? I might even take leave and fly down to do it with you if you cant find another to do it. Are all of your boys too young to drive?

    Blackout driving light

I can't match Emando22's thousands of hours but have driven enough with both PVS7, PVS 14 and PVS 5's to tell you that it is such a vast improvement over driving with just BO drive. Once you see the capability of a GEN III or higher intensifier tube you will never want to face the night without...

New member/1009 owner! Tranny problem/random questions

We bought ours last year and it started right up since we could not drive it out of the GL lot at Aberdeen we towed it out the gate and my son was supposed to follow me while I drove the duece home towing a dolly. Water pump + timing chain cover gaskets and Composite Lights

I can tell you if you are doing engine work spend the extra money and use right stuff without a gasket it is about the same price but I have rebuilt a lot of engines using that alone and never had a leak. Follow the directions on the can it is dispensed like a can of cheese spread. The first...

    6.2 diesel crate questions?

I will get them for you tonight as I have one on my tandam trailer that I picked up from Mechanicsburg last month. There are fork slots and lifting eyes at the corners on the top. It takes about 25 1/2 in bolts to seal it and bond the two halfs together. The crate is not a lightweight item...

    tractors and cargos

I looked at every one very closely and most every five ton is clearly marked hold for FMS that is they are going to another country's military and the State Department is working that out on those. There is a good chance that they will be sent to a depot for top line overhaul or inspection for...

    regular battery chargers

I purchased an Xantrex charger inverter it is mounted under the passenger seat and if I want to charge it I plug in the cord and it has the same three levels of charge described in the opening comment. The neat thing about it is it also serves as a 2000 watt inverter from the 24 volt system. I...

    Speedometer Troubleshooting Help-Fixed!

RE: Speedometer Troubleshooting Help Mark: My speedo has been on stike for some time and I have been too busy to chase down the issue. I will try to get a look this long weekend and let you know but for this reason I am glad the GPS works under my ragtop.

The two oldest boys bought their first deuce!

It was probably much like my experience when I slammed the brakes on in my Suburban and the pedal went soft very soon after. A small pin hole of rust origin popped open and sprayed brake fluid all over the rear underbody. I bought new lines and replaced them. Had to use a vacume break device...

gas(602) to mulitfuel (LDS) conversion ????

RE: pics Not doing a change of engines but I am in need of any advice like Steve mentioned in freeing up the air intake and shorting the exhaust since I will be getting the big gasser M52 soon. I am hoping to drive it home and that will make it an interesting ride through DC and Baltimore...
