    Deuce stolen in Germany

I wonder if the thieves had to wait for an EUC? Sorry I had to ask that for a bit of cheer. No kidding aside this is a serious issue in Germany since the truck speaks English to anyone who looks at it and it clearly has an American accent. I agree that the location means it was most likely...

    It Worked!

Glad that this worked safely for you. Is the one that the brakes are locked modified with spring brakes if so you can cage them and the truck will roll. The other thing is that locked brakes can often be freed by rolling or pulling the truck. We used to get drums frozen in the winter on our...

    Deuce stolen in Germany

Was this during shipment or at the storage loacation? I think it would be wise to let CID know since it is an Army truck and may be linked to something bad. Even though it is not a current Army truck it would be looked at as a US entitiy and that truck could do a lot of damage just being...

    Humvee Wreck

RE: HMMWV Before and After We are not allowed to show battle damage pictures but believe me the ones we saw in Iraq and Afghanistan make this look like a motorpool drive by scrape. I know this is a terrible thing but sheet metal an glass can be fixed. I am glad no one was hurt and we hope to...

A picture worth a million words..

Many of our great Soldiers and Marines are coming home with a non visible injury to the brain caused by IED's and the large number of wounded is due to the great lifesaving skills now close to the front in the services. I am a Combat lifesaver and so are most Soldiers so that immediate care can...

FCC drops morse code requirement for HF ham radio

I am glad that this is dropped and would like to DX with anyone that is also into HF I learned morse code in my early days of being an enlisted signalman and I don't think it will ever go away but it sure is rusty. As far as being a CB type of hype I doubt that the large numbers of folks will...

Glow plulgs cycle after engine is started?? Why

Mine Cycle in both my 6.2 CUCV and my 6.5 Suburban with no ill effect, Mike hit this right on the head as the plugs are designed to withstand the extreme temps and pressures of combustion. If they stayed on without regulation that would be bad as they draw a lot of current and they would burn out.

    Water chiller for M149A2

Bruce: I don't know where they would be found but I certainly remember the rush to install them back in 1990 to our fleet of water buffalos. The thing I remember about them too is that most of them never got used since we bought millions of bottles of water and ice. I seem to remember the...

M200A1 trailer buildup - Crawler Hauler

I just picked up my 200A1 yesterday and it is practically rust free and new tires with all hoses and accutriments except the worthless rear legs that I almost always saw bent off on Military generators. I plan on starting my converter this weekend since I have Monday off. It is a cool trailer...

Pics of the Deuce I drove in the first gulf war.

I spent from late August 90 through May of 91 in the same neck of the woods and have commented on how the dust in Saudia Arabia caused many problems. The one thing I did not do was take many pictures and I have always regretted that for what I saw you might not belive in many cases. Thanks for...

Rear stabilizer leg on an M105

Bruce: The tag about getting them ripped off is quite accurate, I even had a soldier pull out from under a heavliy front loaded M 872 that did a nose dive in the motor pool when he pulled out from under it. Soldiers sometimes forget that is why we know the NCO is the backbone of the Army. It...

    Trans R&R

Just a note about our M 1009 if the transmission fluid is still cherry red it is possible that this is a ten dollar fix like ours was. The M 1009 modulator needs a good vacum from the vacum pump on the deck of the engine since diesels do not have manifold vacum the pump needs to work and any...

    FYI-DRMO starting to show 1980's 5 tons

RE: FYI-DRMO starting to show 1980 From what I have seen at Aberdeen there should be a number of wreckers coming out too. I just wish I had more acess to that site to get better infomation but you can not take even your cell phone in there just what you see and buy are what you can take out...

Rear stabilizer leg on an M105

Bruce: I have the leg on my M 105 and one on the M 101 I always set them because I never wanted to upset the trailer when I was loading or unloading. I even put one on a homemade trailer that I got out of the DRMO years ago. I am quite sure it could be duplicated with some threaded rod bar...

NJ military trail ride in the pines

Thanks Bruce, I am highly considering going with at least one of my children in the CUCV since I do not want to take the duece that far for a one day trip. I may be going to Jersy if I win an M 127 so I will save the duece for that trip.

    help

Take your fist and pound one time right in the center on the front of the hood, this is of course after pulling the cable release in the cab. It is something I have found common on older GM trucks.
