I just had one rebuilt in one of my M1009's with a hard line cooler installed. If you don't mind asking, how much for the Jasper TH400?
Paid about $1200 in and out plus the cost of the cooler and the HD rebuild on my TH400. I love the rebuilt tranny and it will run for years I'm sure.

JPW,
You know, I'm GLAD I finally got both the M1009 and the M1028A2. LOVE both trucks and they both have specific duties in my motor pool.
So start with the 09 and keep an eye out and you WILL own both. Probably for way less than $10k.
I like my Cooper Discoverer M+S tires - work great on and off road. Price was not too bad and they had the deepest tread I could find at the 'standard' tire size for an 09
Cooper Tires - Discoverer M&S - Winter Tires
EDIT : I paid $120 per copy and that was $720 out the door for six tires.
I've got one for sale on my military vehicle club I'm a member of for $5k...
here's the link an a copy of the ad...
If you were closer, I'd gladly let you test drive it, no problem. Kinda a long way to go for a test drive. But she is a nice truck.

don't get cocky
I didn't tell MY DAD where to get off until I was 18.
At least the 09 stayed in the family...
There are few vehicles I have owned over the years I wish I had kept. Be glad your son has similar interest.
nice truck
OK, those go off AFTER you start the truck and it is running.
If you are not getting the two gen lights to come on you need to either check your wiring (my 2nd choice) or check the bulbs (you can swap the working ones from the oil light or other dash light that works). BTW I'm unaware of a...
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever."
Seems you live by that one. Very well thought out. Any particular process in picking the yellow light or the rear mounting spots?
Love the work.
try using the 'advance search' portion of the search engine in the CUCV forum. Here's a few of what comes up

Yes, putting pressure into your tank WILL bleed the system.
My electric fuel pump has been installed ever since I got my first M1009 four plus years ago.
I DO NOT by pass the original fuel pump. The 6 psi is no where near enough to cause it any problems. If it bothers you, just remove it and...
Nice truck - missing batteries, but other than that? Where did it come from?
Welcome to Steel Soldiers and the Green Iron disease. The only known cure is to just keep buying them.
cracked flex plate - it will 'flex' making starting difficult
Also, are BOTH of the bolts that hold the starter in place ACTUALLY THERE AND HOLDING THE STARTER IN PLACE?
If you are missing one, it might start, it might not. If they are both there are they both tight? Also are they the...
Uh, you DO realize that it's a 25+ year old truck.
Chances are HIGH you need new battery cables. And no, not the cheapo chinese ones.
Have them made up by your local auto parts store. AT LEAST a 4 gauge though 0 gauge is definitely the way to go.
I've done this on all THREE of my CUCV's and...
Welcome to the site.
And I'll add another set of atta boys as well. THAT'S what this site is all about. So now when someone searches for a power steering bracket and reads THIS thread, they will have a possible source.
Realize that parts sources come and go. So what is available now might...
plus the YOKES move up and back (not much but they do move) and THAT can cause a clunk.
WORSE is to have a yoke that has chipped or missing 'teeth' so it CAN REALLY MAKE NOISE. My M1028A2 had drive shaft problems and in the process of getting it fixed they found the yoke to the front of the...
The 6TL's the military uses are made by Interstate, not Delco.
I just purchased six of them for my three CUCV's. It makes a huge difference.
And your truck will thank you if replace your batteries in sets.
The 6TL's ARE more expensive. But they do last longer. One set I traded in were...
Jeremy,
I HAVE a couple of M101 trailers. I'm in the process of designing a modification to turn the M101A1 into a small kitchen trailer. I stole the idea from Carlin Manufacturing who made the C200 field kitchen...
