    Starting troubles, advice requested

R 4X4; The alternator is degigned to replace juice used in the starting process and maintain the charge in the batteries. It is not designed to be a re-charger. Using the alternator to recharge the batteries only burns out the brushes and stator windings. Using a stereo amplifier also kills...

S.S.; I'm wanting to get one just like yours from Uncle Sam and rebuild the engine. I'm anxious to try since it looks like a good and easy job. I downloaded the page and am anxious to get started. It looks like you had fun doing it! But thanks very much for the offer!

    M35-A3 info

HRD; Here in Evansville, IN the Armory has a fleet of them and here's the low-down on the A3. The rebuild program promised much more than it delivered. The auto-inflation system is frought with problems. All it takes to mess it up is any type of abrasive impurity between the wheel seals and...

R 4X4; As soon as I finish my Masters program ($14,600 tuition) and get my $6,000/yr pay raise I'll be on it! I'm beginning the fall selling season in about 5 weeks so maybe the company can help me too........

M887 is finally home (my trip)

R 4X4; WOW, nice truck! I was bidding on a truck similar to that one but dropped out when I realized I'd need to haul it home. I did not have my vehicle hauler then. Needless to say, I'm hunting for another one!

    2 1/2 and 5 ton injector swap

Matt; Yes, it's a part of the regular cooling system. On my '89 International 9300 I had a 425 Cat motor with a 13 over Ranger and a top end of about 110 mph. It was a West Coast truck and the intercooler was water cooled. It was the same deal with my '95 International too. But I'm not...

    2 1/2 and 5 ton injector swap

Matt; Good idea! I'm more familiar with industrial grade intercoolers (I used to own two full semis). The cooler air radiator has the added benefit of not having to worry about coolant leaks. However, for long trips (which is what I do quite a bit) the water cooled system lasts longer and is...
