Well, upon a more stringent inspection, I see some older forklift damage to one of the master cylinder air chambers. The way I know this is older damage is the rust on the scratches that were made on the bottom of the trunion. Yet no evidence of a second fork under there. Seeing this put two and...
I just wanted to let folks know that all this drama is in the past, the trailer is home, and GP made things right. They do seem to have a descent level of principles.
Added to the collection this past week. Got an M101A2 that needs some cosmetic help. A good bit of peeling paint and surface rust.
The M1061A1 however, is in excellent condition. Everything works like new and the paint is perfect, other than the bottom of the landing gear feet. It came with...
Ok. Thanks for clarification. I put new glow plugs in this last fall and cycled them too many times and burnt 6 of them up, swelling them too, in minutes. They were Delco 13s. Major newbie to diesel move, but it sounds like you're no newbie. You could use the ohmmeter on them to eliminate. If...
If it is turning over slowly, I cannot see how it's anything but the batteries (or just one battery). Only other thing to make it turn over slowly would be the starter. Have batteries checked first to eliminate.
I feel your frustration. Been there. A rap on the starter with a two to four pound hammer, but not too hard, MAY expose internal starter issues. I had a truck once where I carried a mini sledge for months for that purpose. I have taken Chevy and VW starters apart and cleaned everything inside...
Maybe the heavy wire going to the starter. I've had a few gassers that after a little pull on the cable it'd start. I'm just not the most ambitious mechanic in the cold. Some things must wait til a break in the weather.
Got my 1008's new tow companion a mere 50' parked away from it. Gonna hook...
Oh, I see. The whole interstate thing had me nervous, and WV laws (just 20 min from state line) really make me nervous!
That daggone pride thing! Gets us every time. My title office is county level and when the lady finished mine I told her I would come to her directly next time and she begged...
Ok Jwade, I will pm you directly. I would be way more willing to bid if I could talk to the point of contact first. As for the trailer at polk, I guess I am screwed out of another 1/4 grand just to get it loaded.
By the way, the guys at Columbus, and Chambersburg are very helpful. Forgive my...
That sounds like my backyard mechanicing. I park what I am working on at summer so the vehicle shades me. I promise myself a garage every year, but I lie to myself all the time! Like telling myself I know what I'm doing!
