I used the drag in 3rd gear. that is the gear I use for the crane too.
I heard about greasing the cable. Can you oil it? I think I just read that you could oil it.
the winch on the front doesnt work. I need a pto shaft for it. If it did work it woundnt have done me any good cause there is nothing but field in front.
I like the rear winch, but getting the cable out is a pain.
....its pulling it through the line leveler assembly
after I got done I hooked to another tree and un-wound the whole drum then rewound it while pulling the truck in neutral. the line leveler worked great! Now I have a nice neat tight drum of wire. I used the tensioner the last few feet.
I have driven a truck with the air assist and did not notice much difference. I may have ben subconsiously turn the wheel back. not sure. I enjoyed it. seemed to work good.
no, just did some checking tonight, I am getting power out of the switch, but have not checked at the lock. will test that first. It worked when I first test drove the truck. now it doesnt. I want to make sure the wiring is ok.
the one on the 543 is in front of a cross member and over top of the E brake drum. I cant fit my hand in there. I think it would be eaiser to add one than replace that one.
note: it only locks the rear
