Chris did you have a manual cut-off valve for your fuel? The pump is running as soon as the power is turned on for cranking. Unless it's not a duece you are talking about....
My dropside bed has the pins on each corner, but my posts were from my regular box. The only difference that I can see is that the standard box metal posts have no hole in the side for the pins on the dropside box to engage and lock them. It's easy enough to add the holes, and I really don't...
20 psi oil pressure on the highway!? What is it at idle Bjorn? I think 10psi is the min. at idle according to the manual. That would have me worried. When cold, my oil is at 60 psi at idle. When hot, it shows 30psi at idle and 60 highway. That is, if my gage is calibrated correctly.
Good luck...
Lee, I like your idea of having the spare ether bottle mounted on the truck. Murphy's law says you will need it when the truck is away from home and the spare bottle is in the garage...:)
I've got those holes in my front bumper too. The bumper is original to the truck (a 1971), and it wasn't a winch truck. I added the winch later along with other updates. Those bumper holes actually came in handy. I added heavy tow hooks (that came from some other kind of military vehicle) to...
Hmmm...... Would it be wrong to say I did pass, if I didn't really? Who would be the victim, if any? My own conscience? What would the moral reprocutions be and could it contribute to a decline in my ethical judgement? .........lol. hehehehehe
That's the hard part Jason. Two sides of the coin. You always want to help another MV'er out, and perhaps save a piece of green steel, but also not bite yourself or someone else either.
There has been times when I've seen things on GL for example, that was not something I was looking for, but...
I don't like getting into debates, but Kenny's right, keep it private. Most of us Michigan members are in contact with each other, and we ALL watch the auctions. If there is something one guy really wants, he'll let the others know privately so we're not bidding against each other. We've all...
Thanks for the tips. I'm hoping it's the $0.59 o ring that's missing, that would be in my budget..lol
Makes sense though. It would act like a restricted filter. The fluid in the tranny is very fresh, so maybe a fluid change was made recently and the seal got missed causing the rev to go out...
On a 1009 I just picked up, the transmission forward gears work well but when I put it into reverse, the tranny slips and the truck will hardly move backwards. There is no abnormal noise. The fluid level was about a quart low so I topped it off and still the same prblem. The transmission is bone...
Good work! You can never have enough room for tools/spare parts. That also gives me an idea of what the duece will look like with the spare removed and a second fuel tank mounted there.
[thumbzup] Good work! Were you able to blast some contact cleaner into it?
The sitting for long periods, harsh, dirty conditions, temperature extremes, etc., will all contribute to connection failures. It's amazing some of them even work sometimes....
Definately rebuild the one you have. A good shop that specializes in starters and alternators will know what to do for a heck of a lot less. I had both of mine completely rebuilt for $65 each. They did my starter for $120.
