No, it wasn't YOU. It was Napolean_Tanerite that had the problem.
I'm just saying if you plan on keeping your truck for a while (I've had my first M1009 for four years now) or plan or purchasing more than one, it doesn't hurt to fix them now.
Because LATER GM may not have the dash pads any...
Replace the signal flasher. That 'kinda works when not' vs 'works fine when cold' is definitely an electrical problem, probably related directly to the flasher.
BUT I'd also check all the bulbs in the right side flasher circuit and clean all the connections, including the light under the dash.
Fuel Filter Military Pickup Trucks CUCV NEW Chevy GMC: eBay Motors (item 400148618184 end time Sep-04-10 18:39:17 PDT)
Buy it now is $60. Shipping to Denver was like another $12 (ish). Took less than an hour to swap the whole thing out.
Disconnect the batteries. Unbolt the current fuel...
Even the link you listed states the same thing I did. LMC truck dashes for at LEAST $400 SHIPPED (large box - oversized shpping charge WILL shock you), the $650 CORRECT OEM picked up from your GM dealer is NOT that bad a deal.
Expensive. YEP. Will an OEM last ANOTHER 25 years if properly...
I'm going to HAVE to disagree with you folks.
I have been using ProLong as an additive since 1992 (oil, tranny, fuel) plus they make a great oil substitute spray that works great when I do work on firearms for people as a gunsmith. Like dura-lube, it coats the metal in a silicone substance...
LMC trucks sell them. But they do NOT have the steel interior so it's floppy and will NOT hold up that well. And THEY are at least $350 - $400.
LMC used to sell the Chevy factory part but now they say they can no longer get them.
I don't know why. I guess they just basically decided that...
CROM,
I can fill my tank from empty in about three minutes, tops.
So you are having some kind of issue. And I use it at the lowest level the pump fill nozzle setting I can.
Was your truck a GL purchase or from a private individual?
Oh, and WHAT CUCV are we discussing.
Any CHEVY OR GM dealer. It's still a listed part.
WARNING!!! It ain't cheap. Shipped to your Chevy or GM dealer in less than a week. It's about $650, depending on taxes in your area.
And you either need to pull your six spring steel clips that hold the dash FIRMLY in place.
Or pick up six...
OK folks...
We had the first of a two day static display.
I know how much you like pix...

OK, I painted a new GM dash last year and my old door panels.
They came out looking pretty nice.

I paid about $90 something...
OK, here ya go...
The military used several different sized containers to hold engines in. I have a 6.2L 'in the can' that I need to do this to as well. I shudder to think if it will actually run or not.
ANYWAY, my 'can' is a large heavy steel can which is two halves bolted together to make...
Having recently stripped BOTH my front axles down to bare spindles, TRUST ME, the inside of your front axles from the spindle out are NOT like the normal Chevy/GMC hubs. They do not disassemble like a normal Chevy hub would.
There is a locking key and a flat spring that covers it that must be...
OK, first off, GREAT TRUCK!
Second. You don't need an 'alignment' unless the truck pulls to the left or right while you are driving. To correct your steering wheel problem, either purchase, borrow or rent a steering wheel puller. Park the vehicle with the front wheels as straight as you can...
Yah, that's what I thought. I have a spare M1009 bumper.
I think I saw one in the parts section of the for sale forum a couple of days ago. BUT it could have been while searching ebay under CUCV...
Seabee15,
When doing this kind of diagnostics, sometimes it helps to check your start up ability as you make your repairs so you will be to be able to know what fixed the problem. I'm not saying that everything you did was unnecessary. FAR FROM IT.
You probably have done more maintenance to...
Dude, you gonna need to be a wee bit more specific than that...
Is it an M1009? M1008? M1031? M1010? I assume K20 means pickup, but it would help for a specific vehicle.
Not trying to give ya a hard time but choices are several for the CUCV class.
I've purchased Chinese electronics. It won't be IN spec. But it won't be OUT of spec by much either. Call it within 5% +/- of actual stated specs. But hey, for that kind of money. And you could squirrel that away almost ANYWHERE, run your wires and attach your MP3 or 'other' input.
Great...
