You did note that the link shown on that one ended up CLOSED?
Because there is NO SOLID EMPIRICAL FACTS as to what will or will not happen.
Desert Deuce and I went round and round. He doesn't like me because of my attitude? Guess what? He's not the only person. Here or on other sites.
But...
OK, on your other thread I specifically told you that you MUST clean all the connectors free of oil because IT WILL cause enough resistance for them not to work properly...

I'm going to bump this one back up. The Strasburg parade was GREAT. Had a wonderful time.
The BIG DEAL is the Colorado Sport Aviation show.
We will be displaying 45+ vehicles and several different trailers. There will be a WWII encampment with both American and German encampments there...
what ralbelt said.
I'll add you probably have an air leak in the fuel filter backing plate. You can get the whole assembly shipped to you for about $80 on Ebay. Bolts right up. Bleed the fuel system. Should solve all sorts of fuel delivery problems.
that and the glow plugs systems.

Just pulled mine and reinstalled it in an hour or so a couple of days ago.
I had to find out what the problems I was having behind the dash. I even stripped the white instrument cluster down to bare plastic to finally find the problems with it. Two broken mounting tabs AND a broken post that...
Sorry to bring this one back up from the dead. BUT if contacting your local PD is not an option, CALL YOUR LOCAL CAB COMPANY.
They drive the same cars, 24x7 and are AT LEAST as hard on them as the police are.
So, call your local cab company and ask to speak to a mechanic (explaining nicely...
DISCONNECT THE BATTERIES IF FLAT TOWING.
Otherwise THEY WILL BE DISCHARGED in that 'short' 300 mile towing trip.
I flat towed my M1009 with my M1028 with the medium tow bar 500 miles with no problems doing exactly as described above.
Just go slower than everyone else, stay in the right...
Could be a specific ground wire under the drivers side dash.

And don't feel bad, I too had problems figuring my electrical problems out. But after a while you get used to where to look and what to look for and well...
Uh, did you mean 3.08:1 gears? I've not run across a 4.10:1 ratio yet.
From the Vehicle Specifications page on the M1009:
Front Open, Rear Gov-Loc 3.08 Gear ratio

Bite the bullet and have yours replaced. Find a company that builds them. Mine cost about $400 for my M1028A2 dually and included a new front spine, which had spit two or three 'teeth'.
So just replacing the drive shaft MAY or may not solve your problem. If the splined connector the drive...
I was having a similar discussion with a buddy of mine who is currently 'in'...
I asked WHY the military went from standard green to standard tan (ASIDE from the fact they are in the desert - which is the obvious answer)
his answer was interesting...
the human eye has difficulty seeing a...
try this gear ratio calculator...
YOU put in the tire size, etc you want to use...
Gear Ratio Calculator
realize that gearing and tire size determine your speed AND that your SPEEDO could be wrong (NOT related to anything else).
You can purchase new ones from LMC trucks, though they are six...
First off, WELCOME.
I concur with 1st Sarge. You will just be starting the process quicker than some of us. Like me...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/55456-my-slowly-growing-cucv-collection.html
The M1009 gets better mpg given it's 3.08 gear ratio. Never seen one do 30 mpg before. Not...
That's a sweet ride. Of course, we want more pix. But we can wait. Go enjoy the ride.
OH, do NOT use anything but the correct GM starter bolts. ASK ME WHY I SAY THIS. I learned that lesson the hard way (twice - but it was on two trucks during the same cold snap - each truck just dropped...
1028Rider,

No harm, no foul. I LOVE how threads evolve. But I would suggest you make your own thread AND add it to the FAQ sticky at the top as well WITH all the numbers. That's become quite a resource and this info really needs both of those things.
That way if you do a search on title, it...
Actually she does.
My BIL collects HARLEYS.... LOL.
Gotta love a woman who supports her man. The wife is involved in the club. WE (actually mainly my wife, I'm the bottle washer part of the equation) will be providing the lunch meal on Saturday at the Rocky Mtn Airshow for the club the last...

Come on out. Bring a chair. The fold up ones seem the most popular but even I have an old wooden folder I painted OD green and I...
OK, for NOW I've only got the M1028A2 dually, and two M1009's. Plus an M101A1 and an M101A2 trailers.
So, I will be SLOWLY adding an M1010 when I can find one I can afford and the wife gives me the money. Same goes for an M1031. I already had ONE M1031 but it needed a little more work than I...
