HA-HA! GOOD LUCK!!! I certainly wish that to you. I got told the two week thing over and over and over...alright...I gotta do a write up about this. Gimme a couple days...
I think pretty much all the old Reo's that stayed in service had been updated. The '53 Reo I had was bought and sold out the M.E. and even had a vintage M.E. tag on the body. That was an M34.
Oh, and the other note...GSA is HORRIBLE with listings. Amusingly horrible sometimes.
Bjorn, how thick is the center section of your pump? Found some listing on the Commercial/Parker or Commercial/Shearer pumps. Mine has something like this' M-25X xxxxxx' stamped into the pump itself with no take. It has ports on the sides not the ends like yours but looks to be very similiar...
Mangus, that's pretty interesting. I've NEVER once had either of my Garwood sizes unspool with pressure and I've pulled the brakes out of all of them. I've pulled pretty massive logs to near the truck then simply kicked the PTO out of gear, slapped the truck in reverse and backed out dragging...
I have done a LOT of pulling with my Garwood winches either of the 10K's on my big M715 or the 20K on the nose of my Deuce. I have yet, NEVER needed to have to hold the load to disengage the clutch at the winch. Why? I still don't get that. You can disengage the PTO then back up if you need...
Trango, remember that if you pinched off two of your injector lines to your 636" CAT, and ran on 6 holes, you'd be nearly dead even with the stock multifuel! :) I may pick up one of the Saturn pumps for a spare soon. I've noticed that my pump sort of 'ramps up' when I first flip the power...
I'm more worried about the pressure and flow for the several oil motors that are on the unit. A cylinder, generally, is gonna work...maybe not as fast, but gonna get itself pushed out.
Bjorn, I found a listing on my pump. 1800rpm should put it just over 27gpm. Pump is listed as 2000psi, but specs call out for 3000psi regulated at the valves for the crane. I think I'm gonna roll the dice and hope it will build the pressure enough to properly run the several hyd motors. I...
A large barn beam. Then a cable looped twice around it. Then a 1 ton chain hoist. Then a special 3 leg certified chain sling. I use two of the legs and hook right into the second from the rear on each side pocket then use a chain through the sling to grab the front second back two pockets...
I've pulled beds off three times now by my little ole lonesome. Not too bad a job with a good sling. It's amusing for me because I have to stand in the bed while I pull on the chain hoist and lift it AND ME off the truck. Heh,heh...never claimed to be smart-
Dave P, GOOD EYE! Well, here's the deal with that winch, YES, you are correct that they normally drive down the pass side on the five tons. This is indeed a 20K Garwood I had picked up on ebay. These winches are a modular design and can have the pinion flipped and the winch spun around to...
I put a CUCV 6.2L in my other M715. Wiring is easy. Glow plugs go from a bunch of green wired into two heavy orange ones. I hooked them to a post on a Ford style starter solenoid then to a toggle with a light on the dash. Flip switch, lights on, solenoid snaps, plugs heat up for as long as...
Sorry I missed your question man. It's reach and ratings are 2500# @ 19' and 4500# @ 9'. I'd guess I could prolly pull over 5000# off the deck. I guess all that depends on the how the truck handles it too...so we'll see. It also has 370* of rotation, +5* each way.
I got away with that swap where most people won't...it sure ain't cause I'm special (at least not aside from the retarded way) but my installation of the shorter CAT V8 allowed me to move the radiator back by about 1 full thickness of itself which allowed the big 20K Garwood to have it's...
