You just wanna break $h!t don't ya? I've to the Ouverson corse splined jobbies and his drive flanges. Burly stuff and it's not even the BIG shafts he makes!
Gary, I thought I'd be clever and since the multifuel didn't have mufflers I'd just not run them on the CAT...and since it's a V style motor, only dual exhaust would do! Let me tell ya...it's loud. It's louder than that. Ear protection is not just a good idea, it's a mandatory action. My...

He has sets of new 2.5 ton lockouts ready to go. $595 and they should be waterproof, something the Selectros seem to struggle with.
Talk to Randy Ouverson about his double splined alloy axlehshafts for the rear. They're pretty burly...he's a mud runner too so he'd get a kick out of that slop you dug into.
--I laughed so hard to see that CAT pulling you out and the "THANK YOU" sign right there I think I dislocated a rib!
Hey thanks Gary!
You may be able to find some previous years Top Truck Challenge on eBay or maybe even on www.fourwheeler.com website. Like everything...some years are better than others, but they're always a treat. My buddy that was with me said that I will single handedly bring the price up...
Yeah, really! Would you believe that the Duramax truck averaged about 16.5mpg pulling an 1800# trailer with a 7000# truck on it with the aerodynamics of a cinder block? IT DID!!! I could have only pulled about 12mpg...maybe out of the Velvet. I added up the receipts tonight...$780 in fuel, $60...
40 Grit...FLY OUT. ...well maybe, it sure was fun to help pull out other competitors! [thumbzup]
Yeah Pete, a thong, a G-string...any way you look at it (barry's excluded) they sure help accessability. [^] :jumpin:
That Duramax/Allison is friggin awesome!!! Never at a loss for power, could pull out and pass rigs, downshifted and engine braked through the tranny. A magnificent machine! [thumbzup]
Pete, 'T-back' is pretty much a thong. Barry reference was to sitting there that long...his underware...

Well, we made TTC for this year and and here are some of the trial and tribulations gone through just getting there and back...it's a long read so get comfy. Oh...
HA! You have no idea what you're asking!!! I actually have a write up of just the getting there and getting fun we had. Where can I post it? It's a pretty funny read!
Just got off the phone with Randy Ouverson and he told me he's got 90 sets of lockouts ready to go!!!
$595 Boys...get'em while they last!!!
Randy also worked with me on a set of double splined rear axle shafts for my Top Truck Challenge event and let me tell ya...them babies are sweet...
Personally, if I were gonna put another swap motor in a deuce, I'd go with a 71 Series Detroit. Not for power, not for ease, but for SOUND! They have such an awesome sound, sounds like they're really spooling up and roaring when they're actually just purring along with crank speed. Love that...
Is the housing modular design like the deuce rockwells? If so, he could turn the front housing side to side, rotate the chunk 180* so it keeps it's drive on the correct side of the teeth, and swap knuckles side to side. That would put the chunk in the right spot. Oh, and even if he decided...
Ouverson Engineering is the other manufacturer of the Lockouts. He has two grades of alloy they're made of too. Good stuff, heck of a nice guy! Seen some of his stuff...like in my hands...really nice craftsmanship! Check his website.
Rattlehead you wrote: ...uh, that stuff two posts up about the front detroit and airshift case...heh,heh. The "power-in principle" that I mentioned seems to work, in my experience, with a pretty decent amout of input. Follow me here...when the driveshaft is spinning and the differential is...
