To keep from banging up the paint, you could hang the hook and chain underneath. Will post more detailed photos tomorrow.

If the throwout bearing is bad, then you can probably count on the pressure plate fingers being worn too. May as well have that rebuilt while you got it apart. Costs about $550 to rebuild the whole setup, clutch disc, plate and new bearing.

Or if you want them in a hurry, try West Marine or Boat US.

If the truck was in that bad of a condition at pickup, the driver should have called you imediately and you could have come to some agreement with GL "before" you took possession. Since you had it picked up, your recourse is limited.

NAPA has some good stuff in a spray can...Chain and Cable Lube. Goes on foamy and soaks in. Seems to last a long time on my chain binders, always in the weather.

Camp Blanding is now paving about 7 acres at the USPFO whse. There is also another 10 acre dirt lot that is "chock full" of DRMO vehicles. Granted, there are a lot of "parts" trucks, but also a plentiful supply of good equipment ranging from 30KW generators to 5 tons to forklifts.

I picked up my 53 Stude from Camp Shelby last month. It has a multi-fuel w/whisler, new doors, winch. Was repowered at Toule, UT?
