And if you don't want to mount the loops, feed the strap through the hole and wrap it around the gaurd. The straps are long enough.
And I'm about 2 hours from Muskegan.
All you really need is the loops installed for the spring connections on the side of the cover. Then just take the tie strings that are hanging on the top and sides of the cover and feed them through the slots you spoke of and lace it to the brush gaurd. It won't flap or go anywhere.
What!?!? 'go get me ears'??? ...... :)
Yeah, that white stuff. You're not missing anything Ken. Had to shovel a foot off of mine again from last weeks storm... :)
:) :) Good one!
So Mike, have you got the 'crew' started on your M37 yet? That one will need some work, so you better keep that fire lit under 'em..... :) :) At least give them Christmas day off. :)
The intakes alone on the J engines are good for at least 10 extra hp due to no restrictions in flow from the egr. I know a couple guys that swapped their civvy truck intake with the J intake resulting in noticable power and mpg increases.
I've got a Herc engine in mine that takes alot of cranking to start in cold temps. I now use the ether injection, and it only needs 1 quick burst and starts instantly, and will stay running with the pedal to the floor. Once the rpm's start to pick up, I can back off the pedal and it will idle on...

I've seen them with just the single globe flasher mounted to the center of the roof. I like yours better.
Dam Mike, you've come a long ways with your 1009! It's lookin' great! :)
I used to have a 1008 that did that a couple times. When one would let loose, it would entangle and take out the rest. I suspected the alternators were the culprit but don't know for sure. The alternator alignment was never 100% correct, nor could I get it correct. Also, because the alt belts...
PM Pappa-g. He put one on his and it makes a difference in quieting it down, but not in performance. He likes it.
I prefer lots of decibels myself...... What?
[The ratings are different depending on use.]
A good rule of thumb is overkill.
Use a strap that is rated much more than what you think is required. Factors such as strap condition/wear, age, how it is attached, etc., can change strap load ratings dramatically.
A static load is one thing...
