Any generator can be made to work. the question is how much time, energy, effort [complaining] and headache :banghead: do you want to spend modifying something?
I would suggest getting at least a take off from one of the duece parts suppliers. TNJ, Saturn Surplus, White Owl in NC, or...
Pete, TNJ used to have the folding front bumper step kit, nos p/n 12300799, don't know if they still do or not. You can also take one of the steps off of your tailgate if you have a cargo truck, and mount that under the front bumper.
You can mount a grab handle on your hood like the ones used...
Anyone ever tried tying in 2 sets of air horns? I've got an extra set I've been wanting to add. I guess depending on how they were plumbed, series vs parallal, it would be half as loud or twice as loud? I guess the db level wouldn't necessarily double though. Any ideas...
Yeah, there are so many there, some with chains, some without. Some with bent brackets and/or handles. It's always better to pick out in person. They had a pallet of loose chains there, you might want to call them and tell them they forgot to send the chain with it. Definitely check the guts...
Holy Crap [thumbzup] Clean, Green, Haul'in Machine :hop: !!!! Great score :yeah: Hope it didn't break the bank. Sounds like you're on the right track as far as repair. Keep searching, the part is out there. On a truck like that, keep it GI if you can. The starting systems on them are...
Ken, I saw about a dozen 5T winches. There may have been more. Those go for $375. They had some other winches that would probably lift an ocean liner! I didn't notice any pipeline trucks. They have a couple long rows of 2 1/2T and 5T trucks that we couldn't take parts off of yet. I think they're...
Bone yard soliciting update: Pappa-G, myself and another brother left Mich. @ o-dark-thirty last Friday the 29th. First stop was Sam Winer's in Akron. Nice people, got a new drive shaft for the winch from them. Wandered around their yard for awhile. Almost lost a leg to the gaurd dog laying in...
Slow day.
Heres a trailer pic. Got this from GL. Very clean! No rust. Great tires. I think it spent its life covered with a genset in it. Notice the spot in the bed where something was bolted down.
It also has jerry can muonts in the bed as well. It now has sides, bows and a new vinyl top...
Dunno, but I got the same thing too. The kit was supposedly used but it saw very little use, if any.
Was wondering about the 3 sections with the rings also.
Bjorn,
I really like your gage set-up. I am adding the gages also when I swap out my turbo.
I checked out the Hewitt site for thermocouples. Do you recall what the part number was for the thermocouple you installed? Any installation do's/don'ts? How far upstream from turbo should it be...
I emailed the seller, guy says he has sold a number of them, all went on 2 1/2 T's with no problems. Perhaps the PTO/transmission interface is the same for 3053's, 6352's and 6453's. I think I'll email a previous buyer to see if it went on a duece for sure.
