This sorta has the same idea as the M104 trailer, which was essentially a M105 1-1/2-ton trailer that had the front tailgate as well as rear, to allow the carrying of longer items if need be. Wherever this trailer came from, the builders wanted that option as well.

One pic is a teaser - c'mon, we need to see the whole thing in a 50-pic minimum slideshow!
RE: My new M936A2 project
Cool save! I think you have the newest wrecker here! Two questions, though:
1. What's it like having money?
and
2. What process is required to be added to your will?

This thread is great. The parts for all our custom projects are sitting over in a salvage yard in Iraq - we just need to have Lonesome715 strip parts, box them up and ship back to the States! We might be able to empty some of those junkyards yet!
RE: Re: RE: Racks & bows for M105A2 trailer
From the estate of builder77:
Ethan had piles of M105 side racks, they are listed in the SS classifieds under "Free" items. If you're not in a hurry, and want free or cheap shipping, ask us nicely to pick up a set, and gradually they will be...
Other than a few instances on Automotive Foresty (having to use the front bumper of the 5-ton to push trees down!), the 5-ton did well. I reckon the power steering made it rather easy to move in the tighter areas.

Love to help with pictures, but left my camera at home this time. If I'm taking pictures, I'm not having fun behind the wheel (Lord, give me a girlfriend who will come along and take pictures from the passenger seat). There were plenty of cameras floating around, though. I'm sure a pile will...
Sorry, dabtl, I do not share your appreciation of cheap crap importers. I'd rather pay $1000 for a quality tool than $200 for a Chinese knock-off that will break just when I need it, or produce inferior results. All my hand tools are Craftsman, power tools are mostly Milwaukee, and my air...
RE: Stragglers . . .
It is Monday morning, No.2Diesel and his brother Rob are still there, or en route back at the moment. I'm sure a pile of pics will be posted within the next 24 hours.
We had a great time! Perfect weather, noone had any major problems with their trucks. I think the...
I like these trailers, they are about 4 feet wide on the inside, and 6 feet long (off the top o' me head). A little short, but they are low to the ground, so they are easier to load than the higher M105 trailers. The two trailers weigh about the same, so they can be hauled with no problem.
Looks like you have your work cut out for you. I've seen worse brought back to life....but not much worse. However, we are confident enough in your abilities to know that it will be restored by Aberdeen next year for the ECC.
Very cool!
