I have no idea but if you had a head gasket issue you would be able to tell with water in the cylinders and or the oil. Have you tried to pull start them to make sure the trucks don't just have starter issues? Was there water in the mud hole or just mud? If the engine hydrosaticly stalled while...
The deuce PTOs do have a oil line. I can get some more detailed pics of mine if needed. The wreckers, tankers, pipeline, and pole setting trucks had the t-case PTO.
I don't know about San Antonio but the sites I've been to they haven't complained about trying to start them. Most places get a little upset if you try and move them though.
Here's a pic of one installed on a t-case I have. Basicly all you have to do is remove the rear cover and put the PTO in it's place. There is a connecting collar that connects the PTO to the shaft in the t-case. I hope you got this piece with the PTO because from what I understand they are...
I've seen a bunch of people try and run knocking engines for an extended period with the same results. Either the engine locks up ( ruining most if not all of the rods and destroying the block journals) or putting a window in the block. When a rod is knocking it puts a tremendous strain on the...
I had a locksmith tell me that American locks are the hardest to pick that he'd ever delt with. Said he could pick them but it wasn't the easiest.
The last truck I bought had 5 cut locks laying in the floorboard. As I was looking for goodies I found a set of keys on a ring in the map...
WOW . That's a big difference. That is insanly low for a HH of any kind. I'm no fan of China made stuff but for that kind of price I'd have to try it if I needed one.
I don't think it's as much dishonesty as it is just not knowing what they are talking about. There are a lot of sellers that think they are deuce experts but have no idea. I looked at a truck one time that the guy said was a 1986. When I looked at it the engine was a '86 but the truck was a...
Any time I see rebuild dates or mileage listed in trucks for sale I don't put much faith in those numbers. Everbody likes to brag "truck has only 10k miles since rebuild" or "depot rebuild in 1990" but the fact is most of the time they are dead wrong. It's a well known fact that it's almost...
I'd say you could go 5,000 miles between changes without problems but most of us will take a long time to go 5,000 miles. I'd at least change it once a year even if I didn't go 5k.
I always like to carry copies of the auction pics (you did save them at auction close didn't you ). That way when you get there if they try and pull some "switcharoo" or have parts stolen you have the pics to verify it.
I never served either but don't have a problem driving around in my camo deuce. I don't think when people see you driving it they think you are trying to be something you're not. Even though I never served I do like MVs of all kinds. I'm not trying to "play Army" or anything but to me a deuce is...
That's what I'm thinking. They are the people that buy stuff at auctions like this. I will say the only thing left is stuff they don't think is worth shipping to Memphis. Unless they are in some financial strain and need some cash.
Smashville, I sent you several PMs about the stuff you had but never got a response. I can understand if you got ripped off by someone that you'd be cautious with people around here but I'd really like to come by your place and see what you have. I live in Dickson,TN. Let me know .
If you take the pump apart and there are no pieces missing I'd look further. You need to make sure where the parts in the pan came from before you attempt to start it again.
In most states it's also illegal to not provide a title (or sf97 in the case of government property) at the point of sale. GL seems to get away with it somehow.
I liked it a lot better when they didn't get your money untill the EUC cleared. Atleast that gave them some incentive to speed things up so they could get paid. Now they already have their money so what do they care how long it takes. I would suspect this it the main reason they started taking...
