RE: Re: RE: Where to get Michelin XL and XML family tires?
There might be some over at M715Zone.com. I forget his userID, but there was a guy just south of Bristol, TN that I got mine from, great prices, and good tires. Had a bunch, might be some left, but you'll have to go to that website to...
I think there is more to this story than the video shows. Why was the 923 bogging down, and the 816 wasn't sinking in? It may be that if the roles were reversed, the 816 would be sinking in as well, with the 923 high and dry.
You can own an FMTV as well, if you're so inclined. And have a really thick wallet. I have seen two auctions for FMTV trucks on GL the past year, one was the victim of a severe rollover and the second burned to the frame. Still went for mucho dinero.
Re: RE: Bridge plate cover?
HA HA HA HA !!!!
I believe that also came in the standard BII kit for the Lubrication Kit, Grease, Elbow upgrade for most MVs. Elbow Grease only came issued in 5-gallon pails, along with a hank of 50-foot of flight line.
Side note - man, Bjorn your truck is...
What other parts are you trying to salvage off that beast? Don't scrap them, us guys here might want some spares. Those tires would be killer on a deuce!
I had this problem with my radiator drain tube in the 1970 w/w truck I took to Gilbert PA this year. Took me a while to figure out what it was. It was a combination of a clogged drain tube, and I overfilled the radiator fluid.
Question, what are those drain tube made out of? I find it hard...
I just sent an email to the rangers in charge of that area of G.W. Forest. Will see what they say about larger vehicles on that trail system. Also asked for maps if they had them of the trails.
As for a date, would April 4-6 work for most people? First weekend in April, kinda a warm up for...
Good pics of the cranetruck in action. Just a question: I noticed this isn't the only time you have said the phrase "Let the smoke roll!". Is this your motto, Brandon? I heard it in the recovery video of the M123 as well.
Finally got a trailer hitch for my daily ride, a Durango. Once installed tomorrow, plan to pick up my orphan M103 chassis trailer from its current ditch 40 miles from here, and tow back for an unknown camper/genset trailer project here. Price was right, $75 no title. Needed a lot of sanding...
Great pics, but I don't think any of those rigs were in Vietnam, at least not in their current form. Kiowas, M35A3s (in previous M35A1 and M35A2 form), and M113s could've been there, but in earlier forms than shown.
That wall looks a LOT like the one in DC. Except this one is above ground...
$60 a roll is cheap nowadays. Copper is $3 a pound, so all the wire goes up in price. Take Chuck's advise - know who the scrap haulers are, become friends with them somehow, and you'll end up with all the cool stuff for cheap prices. Perhaps as cheap as a case of beer every now and again.
RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Re: RE: Dodge w250
There's a HUGE offroad interest in Iceland, believe it or not. Four Wheeler magazine did a write-up on those guys years ago, and they REALLY modify their rigs for offroad use!
I love it! Good name for a project vehicle, whether a M35 or a spaceship, but I'll tell you one thing - "serenity" is one thing you WON'T get if you're behind the wheel of a deuce!
One thing being a deuce owner/operator is that it is always an adventure, never just a "trip". And even with...
