    Vin Help

According to my info, this is an old gasser M35A1. Since you have a diesel in it, it was rebuilt as an A2. It comes up as a 1968 with serial number M54355 This will be on the curb side frame rail since we have now established it was an A1. Even with this info, I highly suggest...

    Vin Help

Highly suggest going to the VIN INFO 2009 thread and reading the initial requirements and then post your serial numbers. That's what it's there for to be a tool to help with your registration and for historical purposes. I would verify the frame numbers with your data plate numbers prior to...

82 y/o vet wants tarp and bows for son's m35a2

Kinda surprised your son didn't bring this up to me earlier. Have your son send me a private message (PM) with his phone number. You all know my aunt and uncle and I can work on getting one down during Pioneer Days or more likely just after. We'll save the rest of the conversation for the...

    Vin Help

Negative. Your serial number is your vin and vice versa. Your serial number is stamped on the frame of your truck and that serial number should match the serial number on the data plate. The registration number for civilian purposes is basically useless. On deuces the serial number...

    Deuce manufacturers

Wreckerman is right. David is who I was beating around the bush about. He's super busy as an author. Can tell you this, David has forgotten more about deuces than any of us will probably ever know. If there was ever a go to guy on production and history of military vehicles, he's the man...

    2009 vin info thread

Hey, be happy, at least you have a good infantry deuce. At least it didn't belong to some band unit or a finance company or worse yet some JAG unit. I think I would burn mine to the ground or better yet send it to the bombing range if it were from that type of unit.

    Vin Help

My friend, info on this has been posted for quite awhile and I even recall photos of where to look before this thread. I've also highly suggested that even folks with data plates on their deuces to a double check on the frame just to be sure. I also do not suggest using the registration...

    Vin Help

What you have is your registration number. It will not be imprinted on the frame. That is assigned to the vehicle almost similar as a number assigned to a standard civilian vehicle registration form. It rarely changes but on very rare occasions it can. Serial numbers(VIN) do not change even...

Thanks to B3-3T smoke grenade launcher picture

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/members/b3-3t-albums-stuff-picture2282-yellow432.html Want to thank you for posting the pictures of the smoke grenade launchers. I have always been a HUGE fan of smoke grenade launchers but those are probably some of the nicest smoke grenade launchers I've see. I...

    Deuce manufacturers

I know there is an author who knows the answer to this. He's written numerous articles and books on deuces and the like. Problem is this is more than just a list of 10 names and has a lot of intricate details and date overlaps and etc and etc. He's also usually pretty pressed for time...

    2009 vin info thread

If they were M35A2 then the vin was on the front wheel well frame but probably buried under several coats of paint. Best thing is to look at someone elses that you can see the vin on it and then next time you will know where to attack with the wire brush.
