I love the flatfender jeeps. They just have so much style, in my mind, than the later CJ types, and TONS more than the Wrangler series (the Iacocca Jeeps), and the newer ZJ series.
Ryan, here's a website for a almost "one-stop-shop" for early Jeep parts, NOS and repro:

The checkerboard scheme was designed that way to make it hard for a pilot/co-pilot to NOT see the Follow Me Jeep. There were also some WCs that were painted that way, but they are RARE RARE RARE! VPW had one sold a few years back that was an original WC with the original paint checkerboard...
Is there a standard sized vise that is used? Do the vises have an NSN, or do they buy whatever they need locally? I remember seeing 5-ton wreckers with GIGANTIC vises on the front, that one above on the deuce looks pipsqueek compared to it.
I agree. The NDT and NDCC are great for offroad traction, and were top notch for their day. However, most know that modern tire tread designs provide better traction off road and on. They are not really unsafe off road, but on road they are far from safe at modern road speeds, mostly in wet...
I see a Pheaky Phantom in the back in the first pic. REAL nice bird. They were retired too early IMHO. The Israelis bought a bunch from us, upgraded them further than we did, and they blow the doors off anything we have to this day.
Got any more pics of the aircraft there?
Millersburg, PA. I'll be going there this Friday 1/19, so if you want me to pick something up for you, let me know. Shawn's in a scrapping mood, so I'm saving a few more things!
Okay, getting down to planning where upgrades are going to go on my -725. I would like to put a siren on the beast, but don't know of any official positioning of said 24V siren. Some have told me to put it on the hood, opposite of the blackout light, but that may be too heavy and block too...
eBay has a similar option for when you list an auction. Their counters are provided by an outside company, I remember a while back they used to say "Counters provided by counters.com". I'm not sure if they still are.
RE: Re: RE: Wikipedia
I'd love to see a page on the M715 series as well, but I don't have time, nor the research qualities most authors have. I'd just copy from the article on the M715 posted in MV magazine a few issues back. And that was hardly fair to the series.

Unless you plan on carrying a lot of gear in the back of the ambulance body, the center of gravity is approximately frame height, no matter how high you jack the truck up. So it should be pretty stable unless you're doin 50 around a tight corner. If you plan on filling the back...
Found this in the photos area. Whose truck is this? Wanna know what size super swampers you have on there. They look so right I wanna use same tire and size on my -725.
I don't have any spare PM magazines to trade, but I will take any spare PM mags in trade for older Soldier of Fortune magazines of mine. I just dug up a box of ones I have dated 1975 to 1992 or so. The olders ones of these are getting a little rare, and SoF wants $5 to $10 each for back...
I like the idea of the 20mm cans as well. You might want to see if you can get a set of HMMWV ammo can base mounts, to hold them in place better than the ratchet strap you got. Just an idea.
Okay, well, this brings up a couple questions. First, do you only want this for commo inside your deuce, or do you want to use this for radio commo with other MVs? If the former, it's hard to beat the VIC-1 setup. If the latter, you'll need a ham license, since most military radios are in...
Okay, going to install the rear driveshaft this weekend, but how do you know if I need to install new U-joints? The ones I have seem to work okay, but are a little rusty and dirty. The joint seems okay, though.
