    New M1078A1R

Hello All; First let me apologize for being yet another newbie asking a crap load of questions. I do, however, promise you I have the capacity to maintain and build the truck into the expedition vehicle I have planned and while it will take a while, I will be able to give back to the forum. I...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

And the cost of 307's only gets worse if you have a high pinion rear diff, where that is of no consequence at all with eco hubs.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

truck is stock gearing, so I’m doing eco hubs and calling it a day. Sounds like the perfect compromise for highway cruising but still low gearing for off-road.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

For you folks who know these trucks inside out, how does the gearing after the Eco Hub install compare to installing 3.07 gears? If memory serves me right, I think I’ve heard two different stock ratios, one in the high 6’s and one in the low 7’s. So, in either case, the gearing after the Eco Hub...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yes, I plan on having it rebuilt/balanced, and will have the front balanced as well. Already planning to start a new thread for the truck build to avoid further posts here.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Well, we know the issue isn’t the Eco Hubs:)

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Yes agreed, I'm planning to start a thread specific to yet another newbie needing a bunch of advice and having loads of questions:)

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

Already confirmed the truck will come with caging bolts and new covers.

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I was also wondering about that. There are other parts that are very rusty too and there is plenty of evidence of the truck being an east coast truck where chemicals are used on the roads, but the condition of the few really rusty parts like the rear driveshaft seems to indicate those parts not...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

So, I committed to buying the truck yesterday so I’ve reached out to Mike to order the hubs. I am a little concerned about the tires for the trip home though. One of the tires is a 2017 date code, so not worried about it, but the other three appear to be the original tires with 2008 date codes...

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

I’m reluctant to ask this here, but from what searching I’ve done, it seems this thread has the most info about running the 370hp tune on a C7. Earlier in this thread it was said the only difference in the C7’s delivered with the 370hp tune is the water cooled turbo. Talking with the guy I’m...

Who's running dynamic tire balancing beads?

I certainly hope you are correct and it runs down the freeway smooth as a baby’s bottom because it’s a long way from Maryland to California:)

ECO Hubs Who needs 3:07 gears?

The truck I hope to be buying, will no for sure when I inspect it this Saturday, is a 2008 M1078A1R and from what I understand we’re delivered with a 275hp tune. Are all the parts the same as the 330/370 motors? I’m more interested in longevity since I’ll be building it into an expedition...

    LMTV's show me your WINCH

Thinking about it now, I think my previous post was incorrect. If you engage the PTO while in neutral, it just won't let you shift into gear but doesn't disengage the PTO. If you engage the PTO while in gear, you can drive while operating the winch, but if you then shift back into neutral, you...

Who's running dynamic tire balancing beads?

Thanks, since I have no experience with the CTIS system yet, I'm a little in the dark in understanding what you posted. I assume the filters are inboard of the pipe you mention and not on the end where it would prevent anything from entering it?

Who's running dynamic tire balancing beads?

Interesting, still probably hard to come by in my area:)
