VWilkins, hello from another Californian! I've talked to Buffalo here about going along...maybe we can all coordinate somehow? I don't currently have a truck that runs but am happy to ride shotgun with someone.

Having worked with you for a couple weeks I'd say my experience was that even in such condition you were strong as a bull compared to my thin, lanky, unchallenged stature. In a way I've been surprised when I found I could pick up and roll a G177 w/wheel & rim. I myself prefer power steering...

I'll keep that in mind! Gary's Truck in Anchorage also comes to mind. Perhaps my intuition of M35s being cheap and plentiful in Alaska was indeed founded at least partially on reality...

I'm starting to feel that way. The market was cheaper years ago when I was considering them, and my situation is different now as well.

I've definitely considered an M35A3. I always figured they would be costlier upfront, but maybe I really need to just wait...

As the title says, I may find myself ready to take the plunge before much longer. Work is picking up and I may be somewhat well funded by the end of next month. Of course there are always much better things to blow my money on, but the green fever generally results in depleted bank account...

I commend you for rescuing her! I myself am the proud owner of an incomplete, non running M928A1. Was the first vehicle I ever owned, has never run since I've owned it, and only finally saw it in person a month ago. People laugh at me for this thing all the time, including many fellow MV...

Recently, a long-dead but oh so very useful thread in the Deuce board was bumped by someone. Much as the title suggests, that one had people's experiences regarding weights of parts of these trucks, often helpful when getting shipping quotes or, worst case, estimating scrap value of unwanted...

Keep her. You'll regret it if you don't. Yes, time and money get in the way, but each and every one of these trucks is like their own living person.

Some have done it. These trucks are truly pieces of living history, another reason to preserve them as they are.

I've since wondered: Would a "truck" GPS not have led us down some of those crazy roads? I mean there's gotta be ways for truckers in the 21st century to avoid scenarios such as we experienced...
