I'm kinda going this route with an M928A1 that already lacks the stock bed.

Sad. Funny, as of late I've seen a lot of cases of these trucks burning.

Our 5 tons are so much cheaper and so much more fun anyway...

They weigh that much empty? Always figured it'd be a little less than a 923. I guess not.

I would be tempted but I'm a broke college student and an M939 is taking all my extra money being the above.

I'm in this weird predicament where I know where every grease zerk on an M939 series truck is, but can't even fix a Briggs & Stratton lawnmower. Is that any indicator?

Well, I seem to have acquired the truck portion of this idea. '86 M928A1.

Provided I can get away from school, and/or other stupidity doesn't arise, (Like fighting with the financial aid department!) it looks like I'll be going to go see this thing in about a month.

Others do definitely seem to also share the opinion that it's easier than I think to make it run. Just had coffee with a couple other M939 guys last night who really got a kick out of the project. Wes, I'll contact you...

Following this, as strictly an XLWB M939 owner as of now. Of course, these things all apply to any M939...
