Let's say for a second that their marketing and research is correct, couldn't I just get an Airtex pump and plumb it and a filter and a separator in for a lot less money? Seems to me that $200 is more palatable than $650 if you got the same results.

The magic smoke is what you will release from your alternator if you don't charge the batteries first before trying to jump it or start it. Too many of us have made the mistake.

See if you can get each battery to come back BEFORE trying to jump or start and run the truck. The alternator won't charge 4 dead batteries. You will release the magic smoke. (I have fried two alternators now doing it.) If the switch was left on for that length of time you may be looking at...

What engine are you referring to? LDS/NHC-250/8.3?

Did the old door fit? Measure it and see if there are any differences. Is the opening of the door in the cab itself the same on both sides?
